Rogues don't need huge protruding armor pieces

Hi,

I believe that Rogue armor design needs less huge protruding stuff. For me it’s breaking class fantasy when I’m running around looking like a huge triangle.

I would like to see more armor sets along the lines of the Deadly Gladiator set: no huge shoulder pads, no big spikes on the gloves, overall less stuff that screams “look at my armor, how huge and imposing it is!”

Id like more armors that are more like leather with cloaks over then,or just lower profile shoulders,masks and fingerless gloves

not all armors need spikes and horns poking out of every possible surface… xD

YES. Finally. I thought i was the only one to think it. I always have to transmog to actually look like a rogue instead of a warrior.

Its a common thing in modern wow. The designers have a terrible taste. I mean have you seen mages? Some of their set make them look like Paladins, its ridiculous.

They should stop making massive chest and shoulder pieces and focus on leather clothes that actually fit in the fantasy.

Id love the transmog for that narubian ascended that almost kills you on the bat. I cant remember his name but he looks super cool. I wish we got that as our tier set instead of the crap we get every expansion that nobody ever uses.

Another thing, that would really add to immersion would be to make Weapons and Armor look more functional. Blades are meant to cut. They should be thin, not thick like paddles. Warhammers were actually relatively small, because they were often used by Cavalry with just one hand. Even the few rare 2-hand Hammers, (usually classified into the Polearm section) the actual hammerhead wasn’t that huge, because it was meant to penetrate armor. The more extra stuff you add to a weapon, the worse the balance of it will be. Keep it simple. Historical Weapons and Armor are a good source to look for what actually was used, what actually worked. Then just add to the cool factor a bit, but don’t overdo it.

You couldn’t be more wrong. Players want huge weapons you can actually see while playing your character in a busy environment. Nobody cares about historically accurate war hammers in WoW.

No, you want that. And I’m not arguing for historical accuracy, because WoW is a fantasy game. What I’m talking about is making it look like the armor and weapons are actually usable, which in itself makes things look more dangerous, than when you just over-exaggerate features.

An oversized sword doesn’t look intimidating, it just looks funny and cumbersome. Especially when it’s just a dull paddle, instead of a sharp blade. More spikes and sparkly lights doesn’t make a character’s profile look more intimidating, it just makes it look uncomfortable and unpractical and clumsy to use. Rule of Cool works, when the design isn’t too busy. When you think of iconic character designs, simplistic is actually memorable, while the overdesigned stuff is forgettable.

I mean while i agree with you, that is your taste. Its a fantasy game let people enjoy massive daggers. I personally use normal realistic sized daggers of which plenty exist, so i dont see the problem, everyone happy

Well i don’t i actually like more realistic looking swords and daggers over something that is ordered from temu is hanged on the wall and would break if you hit rotten watermelon with it.

Yeah, basically to be able to believe that the sword I’m looking at is actually capable of cutting instead of smashing because it is excessively wide in the edge.
