This, please, even if its something minor. Just an ounce of more variety to customization, pretty please!
100% agree on the art. Given how horrendously disappointing WoWâs customization options are, there are so many things you simply canât display on the character model.
That said, Iâm not certain if itâs just me (and it probably is), but Iâve yet to find an artist whose style really âclicksâ with me - so Iâm trying to do it myself instead.
As for theme songs and voice refs: As much as they can add to your character, I personally find them more distracting than helpful.
I canât simultaneously read and listen to something, and about 95% of voice refs are people I have never even heard of. Googling or checking Youtube for that is not something I like to do before / during RP. Maybe afterwards if I really liked it.
Lately Iâve seen a lot of âdark fantasyâ inspired characters, all with black or brown hair, snow white skin, black clothes and links to some sort of Pinterest board that is filled with Gothic imagery. Bonus points if they are constantly depressed and their TRPs are filled to the brim with purple prose.
I can vibe with that, all of my OCsâ art is self-made thus far. Mostly comes down to the few brilliant artists I would wanna commission, being busy themselves, so Iâm missing opportunities constantly to commish.
(I do have one coming along, though, so thereâs that!)
yeah, tbh Iâm not going to spend time googling the song you have as a theme song in your TRP profile or look up what actor your character looks/sounds like so unless itâs someone super famous Iâd have heard of itâs complete white noise and even if I had heard of them chances are it doesnât do much for me unless I already know your character pretty well
itâs harmless but complete white noise to most people
oh hey itâs me circa 2007
As a Vulpera roleplayer mainly, there are two very weird and direly Lore-innacurate trend that I see repeating in our lovely race :
- Vulperas that have reached Pandaria and have been raised there, way before the Mists parted (which I believe is 5-6 years ago according to official timeline).
- Vulperas that have joined with the Alliance and infiltrated the Horde to spy on it. Ya know, being all dandy with it and preferring the literal purge squads we are not supposed to speak about over the strangers that helped free the entire race from oppression without a second thought.
All characters are voice acted by Chris Pratt anyway.
Jenit is Kristen Schaal actually ![]()
An over the top and incredibly crude take on the issue? Absolutely, but much like I donât think South Park advocates murdering people whenever they showcase horribly gruesome and detailed deaths I donât think theyâre adding to a transphobic culture by having Macho Man Randy Savage claim to be a woman to get back at his ex.
Have you met the Alteraci Vulpera yet?
I have no idea where this trend is coming from, but Iâve seen more and more Vulpera hailing from outside Volâdun and I donât understand why.
I did legitimately put Chris Pratt as the voice claim of a goblin sapper I play just as a nod to the meme.
Guyâs shtick is pretty much to blow up every event heâs in, so I just change the first name and act as if heâs a twin brother.
If they are who I think they are, I have sadly made the encounter.
I mean, by pushing a little, I could see former Bilge Rats having snuck away while their lovely crew of misfits was out recruiting some mongrels in the Eastern Kingdoms, and settled for the wintery wonderland of ruins to hide from walking the plank.
But not with their case of âay we were here so long we now have evolved to resist the coldâ
Goblin with Danny DeVito voice.
I actually paid big $$$ for Seth Rogan to voice Elairiel, iconic laugh and all.
All Iâve seen and heard was
- born in Alterac
- talks like a dwarf
- drinks like a dwarf
- is pretty much just a furry dwarf
Which is ratherâŚeh.
Frank Reynolds inspired Goblin who is slowly losing their sanity due to the toxic fumes in their workshop.
South Park pisses off all sides which is good
If only they targeted themselves as libertarians ![]()
we dwarves are a hairy lot
I have to confess that I never bothered to read the longer kinds of TRPs. First glances or tl;drs at the bottom were the only things I paid attention to.
I genuinely do not care that you decided to use twelve synonyms for the plain as heck black you decided for your characterâs hair, I will just defer to the character model or art (if any was linked). History I tend to ignore, itâs something to be learned IC.
Does anyone stop to just read the mountains of text when meeting new people? It seems like such a chore that can really drag the RP to a crawl due to both sides deciding to read the wannabe copy of the LotR books in character description form.
If I see one more hourglass shaped nightborne Iâm going to scream
