(Tldr bottom)
Hi all, returning from like a 10 year break (wotlk).
I know essentially nothing about the game as it stands and only reached 120 on my first new char (forgot my old email so ye…) like two days ago. Leveled as assass, tried out sub a bit but didn’t like the backstabbing not requiring the back or sd charges or just the lack of general gameplay for sub while levelling (I herd u laik evis?)
I know essentially nothing about combatv2 (ran with like level 12 daggers till 65 cause rng hates me) BUT from reading a few topics here and there I see two major points that bother people about combatv2.

the entire pirate theme (???) Not gonna touch that one with a meter long stick…

roll the bones rng.
So essentially I hate rng… so much… (lol l12 daggers from rfc or deadmines at l65… yeah nah not going rng based rotation…)
Now that snd is returning in sl; imagine if roll the bones was a 0/15/30 sec/1/2 min cd off the gcd/ still a finishing move (ofc cd / amount of buffs will require balancing) requiring combo points that gave you (x) amount of the buffs at (x) seconds based upon your last used finisher (please feel free to come with ideas this is a freeball thread)
So;
Idea #1:
Have rtb be off the gcd. (Non finisher)
You cast it and you receive 1/2/3 standard buffs no matter what finisher you used. You receive 3/2/1 buffs based upon what finisher you used (capping at 4 buffs when we have 5? now but you can split 1 of the 5 to be included in etc etc etc/do whatever man I ain’t no dev)
Oversimplified concept;
You kidney you get damage and survive buffs
(kidney is used for both plays and survivability)
You snd you get haste/movement/psn procs/energy etc
(Its a quickening buff)
You dispatch you get pure damage buffs
(Damage duh)
You “rtb” or whatever replaces rtb you get a smaller amount of everything or an entirely new concept
Idea #2:
Have rtb be a finisher.
A finisher giving buffs based upon the last used finisher? Love the concept and especially if the name is changed to “loaded dice” i can see double rtb giving hella buffs as you choose not to disp/ks/snd. Can see all the others being worthwhile uses of cps based upon situation and buffs received (mfd baseline plz)
Concept;
Similar to idea 1 but balanced differently due to it being a finisher and on the gcd
Idea #3 (hella f’d)
Have it off gcd 15 sec cooldown giving 1 buff based upon last used attack (each damaging ability gives a 3-6 sec buff when rtb is used immediately after.
So ye. Book. Read it.
Tldr; remove the rng from rtb and make it give buffs based upon previous choices made in your rotation (and penalise wrong decisions instead of bad luck)
