He would be the perfect leader for the blood elfs. Lor’themar ist just a guy with a bow and no powers. Rommath however is the strongest mage we have left. With such a cool character as our leader we would have no fear of defending ourselves against the alliance. Rommath will just use the powers of the sunwell to defend Silvermoon against any incursion. So. Because of these reasons I vote Rommath for the new king of Quel’thalas.
An individual’s personal strength does not define their capabilities as a leader.
Can’t wait to see Brigante notice this post…
The strongest of the race should lead that race. This is already true for the alliance but not for the horde. My changes would just set the status quo even.
Rommath hasn’t really had any characterization at all to suggest he would make a good leader. Or a bad one for that matter. A lot of effort has been put into Lor’themar though and I don’t see any reason to replace him. But yeah, Rommath seems a blood elfy blood elf and wouldn’t be a bad choice after Lor’themar becomes war chief and is inevitably killed off.
no rommath can’t control himself,
i’d rather be represented by a calm collected intelligent man like Lor’themar
- Gul’dan for warchief?
His voice alone makes him a better leader than Rommath.
Rommath is usually right about everything. His foresight is a great contribution to the blood elves.
he cannot control his temper and has zero aptitude for diplomacy
Lor’themar can do both
Honestly I would love it if Rommath becomes leader. The guy can’t control his temper he is great for the Horde.
He blamed Vereesa for being pregnant and not fighting in the war. He was supportive of the High elves being exiled
He ordered guards to put weapons on Auric Sunchaser (a High elf) as he falsely accused him of something
He ordered the Guards to put Alleria in prison while she was visiting and and caused a innocent accident
He is the reason for so many Thalassians being in the Alliance and I love him for that!
Rommath for Leader!
He’s also a true horde patriot that tries to set a crown on the head of lor’themar. Even can see him as warchief. He’s the best elf character we have. I can’t wait for the day when the next faction war happens and he helps us killing Vereesa and Umbric.
Whoah whoah whoah.
Rommath is excellent, but Lor’themar is not ‘just a guy with a bow and no powers’. The Farstriders do actually have powers. If the Farstriders didn’t have powers, then Sylvanas is just a zombie elf with a bow, same as any other Dark Ranger.
They are the last vestige of nature magic within Quel’thalas ( Dark Rangers and Sylvanas are specifically described as ‘Losing their Nature Magic and finding it replaced with Shadow Magic’) He is a Ranger-Lord of the Farstriders. As opposed to no powers, if you do the Blood Elf Heritage armour quests you actually see him cutting loose. He just nocks an arrow and goes “Magic now plox” and looses it, one shotting Scourge with magical arrows. I mean, he does that a -lot-. To the extent where when playing it I was like “Hang on, Who is doing this quest, you or me? I feel like the New guy sidekick in a buddy cop movie!” Then went. Of course I do. It’s Lor’themar frickin’ Theron.
Look up the word ‘Bad-donkey’ (alternate name for a donkey removed because Blizzard are scared of words) and it says “Lor’themar Theron” as a definition. He does have the chops to do the job. He’ll rule, but he won’t rule as a King.
Grand Magister Rommath however is an absolute powerhouse. He’s what I think of as a Gandalf type Mage. He doesn’t need to showboat. Think of it, Look at Lord of the Rings for a Moment. Gandalf is supremely powerful. I mean he is, he is one of the most powerful magic entities in the whole of Middle Earth and he isn’t even human, but more a Demi God. It’s his -Rep- that gets things done. What Magic does he do? He casts one Light spell, he wards off the Balrog, and he fights a Magical duel with Saruman, who is equally a Demi-God of similar power. He is the epitome of the axiom “The truly powerful never need to -show- they are powerful. People -know- they are powerful”
That’s Rommath. Same is true of the most famed Mage from our real world myths and Legends, Merlin.
If you actually read the original myths and legends, Merlin hardly every uses actual magic, he doesn’t need to.
In fact to go further, that is what Rommath is. He is the Merlin to Lor’themar’s Arthur.
He knows he is incredibly powerful, and uses that powers to support the Elf he believes is the best ruler for Quel’thalas. He doesn’t think he himself is the best ruler, but he will support the one who is. He asks Lor’themar to be King, but Lor’themar will not take that mantle. He suggests Lor’themar should be Warchief, but Lor’themar is first and foremost a Soldier. An incredibly powerful one, but he knows what his role in this is, and Rommath knows what his own role is; Magical advisor to a King in all but name.
We know, that Lor’themar runs himself into the ground, ruling his people, from the recent short story, and Rommath himself is the one who has to counsel him and say “look, just get away for a short time you love-struck fool, do something for -yourself- for once in your life!”
Halduron has qualities, but he is a bit wet, to be honest. Rommath and Lor’themar are both strongly written characters. But that is what they are. Rommath is Merlin, Lor’themar is Arthur.
The Blood Elves pretty much have it nailed. A Strong leader, who is a skilled soldier, with an unswervable sense of duty who puts his people first. A Strong Magister, who is obscenely powerful, yet who knows his role in this is to advise the ruler and be the voice of reason to him, the Uncharismatic but undeniably skilled Strategist and Ranger General, and below them, a Fierce and Passionate battlefield Leader who people will follow anywhere.
I reckon they’re doing fine as they are. And Lorewise, so do the Sin’dorei people themselves, which is the important thing.
I trust your aspirations on that front were not misfounded.
Absolutely not. That never works for a society, and culturally and historically has always ended badly.
Was Churchill stronger than a member of the SAS? Was the chap with the silly moustache stronger that Otto Skorzeny? Was Stalin stronger than General Zhukov?
Leadership does not equate to simple physical strength, and societies who thought it did, were swiftly defeated by those who thought that the best leaders, were -leaders-, because a good leader will be supported by strong people. Leadership=/= personal physical strength.
Do you want to loose another Horde leader? casue putting them in any kind of spotight tends to do that.
Espcially if theyre warchief that position is cursed like teacher of dark arts position of harry potter
It does not matter what leader the Blood Elf Faction has.
They will fall eventually towards the might of The Alliance.
Then, and only then, can silvermoon be free atlast. Free from the demonic Blood elves that occupy the city to this day.
Go back to outland, demonic scum!,
Absoloutley yes. See Night elves. They have Tyrande and Malfurion. See Humans. They have Jaina. Even Anduin has his light powers. What does the Horde have in comparison? A bunch of mortals without any powers except maybe THalyssra.
My ideal Horde leadership would look like this:
Orcs - the Au warlords
Trolls - Rastakhan and Jindo the breaker(for the jungle trolls)
Tauren - Sark Ragetotem since Baine is a disgrace.
Undead - Sylvanas should return. Have you seen ho she went solo against the entire scourge army? totally badass.
Blood elves - Kael’thas because he was our og leader and stolen from us in the worst patch(2.4)
Pandaren - Chen Stormstout. All his close friends are with the Horde(Thrall, Rexxar and Rokhan), so it makes sense.
Nightborne - Elisande.
HMT can stay the way they are.
Haludron is a traitor in the making. He was far too nice to Vereesa. Better exile him now before he can sell us out to the Alliance like Baine did many times.
Not really. He has swordsmanship and can shoot with a Bow. Thats it. I played alliance side darkshore scenario and Shandris arrows an entire squad down on her own. And she isn’t even the most powerful of the nightel clique, that honor falls to Tyrande who wipes out an entire base with her nightwarrior powers. THe level of power parity between Alliance is far out of hand and it is very unfair in my opionion that alliance has all the powerful people while horde mortals fight with petty axes and shoot normal arrows. It’s the anti thesis of faction pride.
Sylvanas’ powers come from the Jailer not herself. She was buffed. The farstriders do not have such a power source.
I wanta horde who doesn’t have to shy away whenever the Alliance flex their muscles. The current council is a wet joke. A bad one on top of that. They do not inspire any faction pride in me.
Go back to your cage. Rabid dog. You are not welcome here.
one more word about Daddy Lor’themar and you’re dead.
There are no more Kings of Quel’Thalas, the title was abandoned in respect to the Sunstriders.
That’s why it would be perfect if Kael returns and claims what rightfully belongs to him.
he’s… a bit dead.
We will meet him in the Shadowlands. There is always hope.
