Does anyone know if the Rostrum of Transformation will still work to convert 10.1 items into set pieces for tmog purposes during 10.2? Or do I need to convert any outstanding pieces before reset tonight? 
You are thinking of the catalyst (gear converter), not the rostrum (dragon customizer)
It will still work, and the cost will be removed, so transform all you want. At least thats what happened with 10.0 gear in 10.1, so i assume the same applies here.

Isn’t the rostrum where you customise your dragon? Pretty sure it’s the catalyst that changes gear.

Note it will only change to LFR currently, regardless of ilevel, for season 2 items. No idea why.

Just tried it there yesterday and it still gave me a Mythic tmog piece 
Hm, maybe they fixed it. What was the piece, may I ask? Like was it an old S2 piece you had hoarded?
Edit: tried it, not fixed, so I assume it has to be an old S2 piece that is greyed out… meaning people can never get it so surely that can’t be right.
New season stuff will only be moggable into new season’s t-set.
I am not talking about new season stuff, though. I am talking about the items you can get from the dreamsurge/time rifts/niffen that are 402-428 and can be upgraded. They give the S2 LFR appearance but nothing else.

Right yeah that will have given you the current appearance for season 3 not an old appearance for season 2?
No, I was missing the mythic chest appearance from s2 and it gave me that. Maybe something to do with it being from this week’s vault?
Ah, yes it will be a S2 item not an S3 item and thus available to forge. I think the only way to currently get the gear is to do S2 raids and mythics (if you even still can?) which is… rubbish.
