Rotation Question for Fury

Hey guys I’m trying to understand the Whirlwind buff you get. If you use whirlwind you can stack it twice and then your next two single target attacks will hit additional mobs for 50% damage.

So am I right in thinking if I’m fighting a big trash pack and I have a rampage I’m guessing I only use it if I have used whirlwind first for the buff and then I rampage to make sure I hit as many mobs as possible with it?

Like is that what Fury AoE is? Weaving in whirlwinds between the big hitting abilities ?

Sorry if this is a noob question but I’m just trying to understand it so I can max my dps output. Having a great time with Fury tho it’s an extremely fun spec for someone who is very new to warrior in general.

Yeah, you’ve pretty much nailed it. Rampage use should always have a stack of AoE buff available if you have more than 1 target, but TBH in AoE you should normally Whirlwind every 3rd attack anyway to use it with Bloodthirst, Raging Blow or Execute. So it goes a little something like this:

Whirlwind > “Attack” > “Attack” > Whirlwind > “Attack” > “Attack”

Whirlwind is also THE filler attack. If you have no other buttons to hit you should be hitting it. So in all honesty, your AoE and Single target rotation ends up being super similar. Even when we get Slam for filler in Shadowlands, Slam is pointless for Fury given it won’t add any buff, so use Whirlwind then too.

That’s great thank you

Just on that as I don’t really notice a difference in the two attacks, am I prioritising bloodthirst over raging blow or the other way round?

Kind regards.

with cold steel build, bt over rb, because of the dot we leave (when we crit)
