Okay, so I STILL don’t have Squawks, and I’d like to maximize my chances. Supposedly, these two boxes can contain the mount.
Now, according to Wowhead, the Rotting Mire Salvage has 12% chance to have Squawks, while Crestfall Salvage has 4% chance.
One thing that makes me think it’s true is that the Rotting Mire crate’s text says “especially sorry lot of pirates”, so it sounds like it has more chance to contain pirate themed loot.
Can anyone confirm if that’s true or not?
Because this week there is Crestfall Salvage that can be bought, but if the other crate has it with a higher chance, I may want to wait for it.
The island expedition boxes are indeed themed and tailored towards specific rewards.
If WoWhead is showing a significant raise in the stats and the loot itself is also pirate themed then it’s a safe bet it has a loot table that is more likely to give you the mount.
If you buy Crestfall and don’t get it you’ll regret it.
If you wait and don’t get it you will probably tell yourself you wouldn’t have gotten it either way.
Yeah, anyway I bought 2 Crestfall chests, one of them had the twilight dragon which is cool I guess, but now that I got everything else from Crestfall, I’ll definitely wait for the Rotting Mire chest to appear. I was just not sure about whether it’s true that the drop rates can differ, but I guess they can. Thanks.
Honestly?
The crates kept dropping me the mounts i have instead of the lovely parrot mount that was my last resort to acquire so i felt that blizzard is kinda trolling me and already quit.
Not to mention my endless runs with monk/druid/priest on freehold that never dropped the mount, i got most rare mounts at around 150 kills, FH mount though i should be close to 500 runs within 4 seasons and 3 chars and still it refuses to drop.
