RP in WoW is not what you think it is

WM is on yes :stuck_out_tongue: what point have pvp gear if u dont have WM on

My point is more, they are choosing to be in WM on, regardless of server type RP/Normal, we can all just turn that off in any rested area. So if someone choose to keep it on, then they are wanting to be in WM on. If it was bothering them, they could just turn it off.

It’s not like PvP realms of old.

it is like peoples made a char on a classic pvp server trying to level up then they compline of getting ganked

In truth you shouldnt really be on an RP server then. Those servers were specifically setup so RPers can enjoy the imersion of the game how they want to.

I think reporting is a bit far though.

On an RP server WM is sometimes part of an RP, when the setup is a battle or soemthing with the opposite faction
And the last thing in those cases someone want is a wandering OCC mass murdering the actors

i do RP yes want to see my rp profile :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m not saying it’s a good idea to seek out PvP opportunities on a RP realm as a non RPer. I do not understand the mentality of those that can’t just find those activities on the rest of the realm types if they aren’t RPers themselves.

Gotcha sorry. I thought you were saying you dont RP but played on an RP server. Ignore me.

my rp name is: Sung Yang Li Jingy

Wisedrink is my pandaria bloodline name :stuck_out_tongue:

You would be surprised, but that’s actually my plan once I settled with in my 3D/CGI career at some point. Making quality animations and adverts for Roleplaying in WoW and Player stories.

There are already some youtubers doing such things for fun like Pivotal. Now imagine if an entire community story of a realm is behind it, with actual sound design, narration/VA and production.

That’s the goal I am interested in. Using media to make RP in WoW more appreciated.

Edit: And if you are wondering what my intended quality goal is, it is somewhere around the same as some of the Hearthstone trailers, just not fully stylized (since I am better with photorealism)

Wow, thanks for alerting me to this, I believe I may have had an earlier version of this many moons previous…however now, well Argent Dawn is now a whole new world, and for someone who is very creatively minded, just reading other people’s stories is awesome.

side eyes However, now I have to give thought to my own, and look at lore and so on so I don’t make an idiot of myself. However it promises to be fun!! and hey a whole new aspect to the game!!!

Not at all Heramaar
I can see you being a very well rounded player and I very much look forward to seeing your future work. It is really nice to see people whom have invested their enthusiasm and passion into the world. One of the things I like about MMORPG worlds and environments is unlike books, films and TV, you get to occupy the world yourself, and that’s a whole different level of immersion and escapism

I belong to the 0,5% of solo RPers, since that’s what I am doing in the cRPGs I am playing as well.

I would like to get comfortable with the extended version of TRP 3 though. I want to create short custom campaigns with the aim of sharing and playing them with others. Once I achieve that, I might transfer Vomlir to AD, where I will find a bigger audience for my content.

That’s really cool. People like you are priceless for the RP community. You really give life to adventures/events that various RPers play a role in.

Well, I would argue that you are constantly in war with the opposite faction. So whatever you have planned for, you need to constantly take into account the fact a ā€œkilling machineā€ might appear out of nowhere. Unless you are in a pretty safe area or a sanctuary.

Now, now… Don’t flatter me with words. I haven’t done anything yet. It will be more appropriate once I did produce something.

Naturally
But an organized RP campaigns is different
You mentioned you want to create such things, and in that case, if some of them would be a battle, or just peace talks between hostile groups, a random OOC would be disturbing to say to least

In my campaigns, the probability of a Horde attack might derail us will always be a thing. Now when an OOC of the same faction just tries to ruin our moment that’s a different can of worms. Which is why I said that all a non-RPer needs to do is just not obstructing the RP events/moments of others by being a D.

I spent years on Argent Dawn before moving most of my chars to Silvermoon. I never really got into RP but I met some nice people on there, and had family play on that server, so I just stayed there. One thing I never really understood was Goldshire on AD. I know there is the meme side of it, but there appear to be people who take the RP very seriously inside the inn.

I see them just stood on the outersides of the walls and sitting on the chairs, but they never actually do anything, they just sit there and look out across the inn. No hate here, I just genuinely want to understand what they’re doing and how that’s RP? Are they roleplaying in whisper, or do they just take in the view?

Just passed a group of people in a major city today who were all geared up with backpacks and shovels and talking about how excited they were to be venturing into the newly discovered Dragon Isles…
kinda like interactive NPCs!!

well done, those people!

It’s little moments like those that make the world feeling like it’s genuinely alive…

I am glad how that thread turned out btw.
