I haven’t rp sense many expansions ago however then it was allways on alliance that i R:ped on, I have never done that on horde for as I can remember.
Is role-playing more common in Alliance?
First RP questions belong to the Roleplay Area.
Second Roleplay is nowadays only on RP Realms and then really only on a single realm which is in English The Argent Dawn. On Sylvanas finding RP is like randomly founding your dreamgirl.
Third Well yeah RP is more common on alliance then Horde just because more people can relate to humans or the classic elves and dwarfes which is why on horde most Roleplayer are Blood Elves.

As a non RPer, I’m just not that creative, I have no idea what the reasoning is but it always comes across that it’s the human and belf zones that are used most.
It is more common on Alliance on AD, I have no idea about the other rp server cluster but I vaguely remember them saying the same thing years back. That said, there definitely is rp on horde side, so if you’d be interested in that specifically I’d recommend checking out the AD forum. There is a discord for AD rp, to make it easier to find likeminded people and guilds. I don’t have the link at hand but you can find it on the AD forum as well 
I’m guessing with Midnight at least the blood elf scene will be very lively. I wish you much fun on your journey!
May not have to do with creativity but the paradox that we want to play a fantasy game where we can step into other rules just to stick with what we already have. The reason why back then Horde got Belves so people tend to play more Horde.
I mean also kind of logical. When we want to play, we want to have fun and humans and Belves have you think the least while not being depressing. So they start with them and then stick with them as they are already have a functioning character.
