30 minutes to go… :O)
Great meet 'n greet, definitely looking forward to RPing some more with the finest misfits, veterans and glory hounds in the kingdoms.
Since we have no public discord for this campaign, I’m wondering what the alternative is. So far the OP provides contacts to use in-game, but when someone wants to report a player for rule breaking or straight up griefing, I think they will need a better platform to provide an extremely well made and solid report.
I doubt any organiser has all the time in the world to reply to numerous whispers from players pointing fingers and naming names while also trying to organise each day of the campaign.
I suggest the contacts/organisers provide their discord profiles to the OP so they can collect reports and take them on in their own time. Meanwhile, people can be obligated to send screenshots (in-game is usually where you get the lame ‘BLITHERE JUST NUKED ME FOR NO REASON!’ complaints which I am certain is the reason why the organisers aren’t too keen on making a public discord).
Lucky for me, I’m already in a roleplay community in-game and OOC where my fellow members collaborate to help keep the campaign clean for the organiser’s sake who are also in our discord server (cough join the PCU cough it went public cough).
Guild: Ronin (but signing up as individual)
Faction: Horde
Contact: Softsong
Notes: Healer (both in rp and gameplay). First time doing RP-PVP!
the campaign’s barely even begun and people are already talking about how to report each other
Very glad to hear there isn’t a campaign discord, they can definitely take away from the experience
Make IC threads great again
It’s not like this is the first RP-PVP campaign ever made. Personally, I like to plan things in advance so that’s why I decided to ask questions now.
[This missive is distributed to the leaders that carry out the naval invasion.]
Soldiers for Lordaeron, soldiers of the Horde,
stand ready at the eighth ring of the bell in the evening in Tarren Mill on the morrow. Do not make your presence known to the enemy before our gathering.
For Lordaeron,
B. B.
[This missive is distributed to the leaders that strike from the Arathi Highlands.]
Soldiers for Lordaeron, soldiers of the Horde,
rally in the Highlands, be ready to strike the Thandol Span by the evening.
For Lordaeron,
B. B.
OOC: EVERYONE, please set the Arathi Highlands back to the old version instead of the War Front version to prevent phasing issues in the initial attack / later role play. We kick off tomorrow around 20:00 ST, be around. :O)
PS: No discord

Damn shame that I missed the start, but im definetly going to be at the other evenings!
The start is tomorrow
That’s okay - the actual combat starts tomorrow, 19/6.
If people could meet up a little before 20:00 server time at Menethil Harbour for the Alliance and Tarren Mill for the Horde, so that we can go over the rules for the RP-PVP, that’d be much appreciated.
All Alliance battle groups,
Muster in Menethil Harbour for briefings and specific duties. Horde incursion expected around the eighth hour - be ready before then.
Bring gryphons.
Field Commander Branon Tellingworth
I must confess i’m a bit confused about that part. How do you distinguish between light/heavy in most cases ? You gave the most “extreme” examples with bladestorm being a nuke and whirlwind a tickle.
Is there a damage threshold that should indicate us if it’s ok to use the ability ?
What about DoT spreading AoEs that DK have ?
If you notice that you do crazy damage to others just drop it
I understand your point completly, but that leaves the problem of “interpretation”. Not everyone has a DPS meter online, especially for rp pvp and some people consider “high damage” at a higher threshold than others, especially when their fun is involved.
I am having concerns for now, but pray for the best !
I think everyone knows what AoE is meant as filler abilities and what AoE is meant to do some damage when it comes to their own class at least
If you see people dying very quickly then it’s probably a good idea to stop using AoE, general rule of thumb.
at the very least you can always ask, as people did earlier in raid and we told everyone present tonight in the raid (you included) what should be considered fair and what isnt
If you’re not sure what’s light or heavy AoE, check with someone or simply don’t AoE.
