Shadow guides you everyone!
I’m new RPing with void elves, I only reached exalted yesterday with my main and i jump straigh away in the creation of this toon.
I need to say that i’m not a big void expert and i’m trying to play around with him at the moment.
I’m playing this Voidmancy Scholar, which in my head is like a void conjurer who can play and summon shadows/voids power. Like i’m not using the voidwalker as a demon but as a Void Elemental/Voidling. Is this in line?
Which kind of classes/flavour are you playing with your Vide Elves? Are you basing them on the one from the starting zone ?
The Void is massive, and so there potentially a massive amount of different, black, tentacly creatures of nightmare fuel that you could pull from is. Same with demons from the Twisting Nether. Azeroth is a tiny peanut by comparison, yet look at all its diversity despite being but a simple planet. It is only reasonable to assume that of the relatively few Void & Demonic creatures we know, they are only a small sample size of what’s really out there, and the reason we have such a relatively small selection is logically because WoW’s art & model designers have a limited budget of time and money.
On the topic of using the Voidwalker as a creature of the Void I think you are entirely safe, although you might have to emphasis it.
The Void in its current concept is a relatively new addition to WoW’s lore universe, as previously, from Warcraft 3 through the burning crusade, there was almost no difference between demons and creatures of the void, and they were often used as the same thing.
As for classes, you are really free, although Shadowpriests and perhaps even Warlocks might fit more thematically. But regardless of whichever class you choose to play as, remember that the elves under Umbric were experienced magical researchers from a magical society, and so even your Void Elf Warrior is likely to know a few spells or so, and might be more compared to a ‘spellblade’ type character.
In addition, your Void Elf is likely to possess a strong inner willpower, having survived the whispers of the Void. Which means that meek & weak willed characters are likely to be rare among them. That said, although they survived the encounter, some or more of them may have minor side effects of functional insanity.
And as a side note; though Void Elves are super popular in the game, they are in the lore rare and exotic characters. Most people in Azeroth are likely to have very little to no experience with them, and your obvious void corruption and ethereal voice might make social encounters with other races more difficult.
I stay within the lore I know, and chose shadow priest, as that seemed to fit the race very well.
Presumably this character was an ordinary Sin’dorei priest before her void infusion, but chose to concentrate on shadow priesthood after the void incident, as she felt it aligned perfectly with her new void enhancement.
