RSS: Best & Worst of WoW

RSS is the only reason I’m playing this game. It is the most fun I’ve had in WoW since S8. However, with 1 hour + queues (not an exaggeration), it’s becoming more difficult to stay motivated. It’s wonderful that there’s rated rewards for not having to play with a set team. Not to say 3v3 isn’t fun, it was, but the culture surrounding 3v3 has largely deteriorated, and it’s like such that, for example, if you take a break, or you’re new, you’re quite out of the loop and that puts you miles behind.

I’ve earned Gladiator titles back in S6/S8 on my US account under my warrior, but I’ve always felt like the need for the team, while it can be appreciated from a social aspect, does not mesh well with some of us who have since grown up and have families - and simply do no longer have the time for that social-bonding aspect. Of course, I can appreciate that some people can do this and that is fine. That’s why it was great RSS came along to offer more options.

Now, I’ve seen posts about giving healers more incentives to queue and the like. I won’t pretend I have all the answers. I don’t. However, all I know is that something, somehow, needs to be done. The queue times are just too much. I think a lot of us would have more fun if we could actually play the game more, instead of waiting 1 hour for 5 minute matches. Not even going to get started on leavers etc., you guys already experienced enough of that and there are enough posts about it.

Some options for improvement of queue times I’ve seen are:
1 - Give healers more rating for participating, especially in 3-3 rounds.
2 - Allow all DPS teams to queue (though this might be a skirmish brawl)
3 - Allow solo queue to queue into regular 3v3 (though this might be a disaster, especially against coordinated 3v3 teams)
4 - Allow solo queue to also be 2v2 (though 2v2 is completely imbalanced and the definition of “unfun”)
5 - Speed up queues by allowing other combinations outside of healer-dependency. (Though this is possible with tank queues, DPS teams, like 2, can be viable. But this may not be so fun as we anticipate).

I’m sure there are more (and even better) suggestions than what I offered. I don’t have all the answers, nor will I pretend that I do. All I know is that I’d rather lose over and over again within the space of 1 hour than to sit in queue for 1 hour for 1 game. My biggest issue with RSS is that I just cannot get enough of it. It is literally the best and worst of WoW.

Cheers.

1 range 1 meele 1healer 1round

u can also remove dampening cuz its only 1 round
giving and taking points is way easier specially for healers benefits for healers

treat all hunter speccs as range and no class has disadv.
“maybe the enemy team has a better comp” u have the same in soloshuffle facing for example herocleave or TSG easy to execute comps"

but 1 range 1 meele are harder to execute compared to full caster full meele comps.

also the que times are shorten on cost of game length

and 1 range 1 meele 1 healer proved to be most succesfull on prealms where that system exist since idk 10years

also that way healers are not on a big disadv only adv rn for healers are the que times after that all disadv start

Make Dampening increase healers’ dmg as it decreases their heals.
Keeps the games fast (faster even) while turning it into an escalation in tactics for healers rather than a downward spiral of despair for them.

Nerf rDruids (buff hpally/rShammy/hpriest) so that the healers not playing hot-bot start queuing in greater numbers.

1 - The second rating is gained for going even (mind, you still gain up to your MMR if CR lower), it inflates and becomes utterly meaningless.
2 - This would make rank meaningless, because 3 dps vs 3 dps isn’t based on skill anymore.
3 - Too easy for constructed teams to gain rating. Also crossover ratings, which would mess with the rewards.
4 - Same as point 2; it wouldn’t be viable as a ranked option if you want rank to mean anything.
5 - Again, same as points 2 and 4.

I still think a single game format would’ve been better, but it wouldn’t have fixed the queue issues. Here’s a friendly reminder that healers have instant queues.
