RtB Confusion (M+)

Hi Team,

After reading various Outlaw guides for 8.3 I’m still not sure when to reroll in M+ scenario.

Here are my assumptions:

  • AOE: reroll if not grand melee, ruthless precision or 2, 5 of any
  • ST: reroll if not ruthless precision or 2, 5 of any

Here is what confuses me:

  • AOE: Some guides favor to also keep a single broadside buff
  • ST: Some guides say reroll if not broadside, 2, 5 of any - and some even advice to reroll if not grand melee, precision or 2, 5 of any.

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks tons!

It depends on your azerite traits. If you have mulitple Ace up Your Sleeve, its worth fishing for +2 any buffs or 1 Ruthless Precision.

With multiple Deadshot azerite, you roll for +2 any buffs or 1 broadside.

If you have the same amount of Ace up Your Sleeve and Deadshot, you fish for +2 of any buffs or 1 Ruthless Precision.

I usually keep a single Broadside, Grand Melee or Ruthless Precision in aoe settings.

What’s the advantage of using Grand Melee? I’m not familiar with how attack speed works, and by the looks of it only increases auto attack speed. So how is this recommended in AoE? Auto attacks are single target only, or does blade flurry also hit targets with auto attacks? Would it still be good in ST, or does it simply not scale well enough?

Several things.
1 - I do think Blade Flurry spreads auto attack damage
2 - More normal auto attack hits means more mastery procs, which also are transferred through Blade Flurry
3 - More procs means more energy regeneration (I don’t remember the name of the passive but you gain energy when you proc an attack)

That makes sense, I tried watching the dmg ticks from bladeflurry and it indeed seemed to use auto attacks as damage source as well!

I’m curious how this is for single target though, is Grand Melee good for this? I was told by a log analyzer that I should keep it for ST as well, though this was primarily for Legion.

Well, autoattacks are a big part of your damage on ST, and the points I mentionned considering energy regeneration still apply. So you keep it !

Alright, thanks for the tips!
