RTX 2060 good enough for Shadowlands?

Hello friends,

I just bought a core i7-17000k processor with 16GB memory and a new motherboard and my old GTX 650 graphics card is giving me issues like unable to start 3d acceleration etc. I have already wated 3 days but it doesn’t work.

So I decided to upgrade my graphics card. RTX 3080 is a bit too expensive for my liking so I have decided to settle down for RTX 2060.

Do you guys think Shadowlands would be good with this card? I want to play with good graphics, at least 6 or more, on a scale of 1 to 10.

Thank you

2060 is more than enough to run at 7+

What i7 though? i7-5th gen may cause you some issues for example.

Rtx 2060 will do just fine, if u play on full hd, might feel worse on 2k(quad hd) or 4k.

Also when u upgrading, hope u got some nasty SSD too. Its a life changer.

Sure hope so. Just got a new laptop with that card in it!! Just for shadowlands (wow). For me a major upgrade. Had a 5 year old laptop which needed to be put on 2 in order to work properly.

Why wouldnt it be enough? Right now this laptop is not using its full power and I’m at 9/10 or 10/10 graphics settings. Of course being a laptop which I use cause I’m always on the move for work it’s only a 15’ screen. That probably helps

There is a large performance gap between 3080 and 2060 though

For 1080p it should handle modes 7-10. For higher resolutions like 1440p it will depend, but 7 should always be good.

You can check my Shadowlands beta benchmarks - RTX 2060 is bit faster than GTX 1070 used in those benchmarks:

Surely you know a 2060 can run WoW if your 650 has been able to until recently…
I have a 960 and it runs wow just fine on 7 at 1080p.
The 2060 will run WoW perfectly.

Just a reminder that i7 means nothing, can you share the exact CPU version number?

My work laptop had an i7, turns out it was a u variant (under clocked with lower voltage) and it was a dual core (yes, an i7 dual core…)

2060 should be fine for 2k gameplay, if this videocard not worth it for WoW - thats means there is problems with WoW in general and outdated graphic. But tbh dunno - many streamers have hight FPS drops in SL and have fundraising on a new PC. Ofc they have not potato PC.

Yes, I have ssd

Btw RTX 3080 designed for 2021+ 4K 60+ FPS gameplay.

Thanks bro, so I should be fine with 2060

with all the recent news about how TERRIBLE the 3080 series is doing youre better off with a 2060 for now anyway

but yes, its more than enough to run wow properly

3080 are terrible they have meny flaws :frowning:

I run it on a 1060, so yeah 2060 will be OKish.

dude i’m playing beta on a 1050 ti you are good sir

i have a 3080 and i have a 2070 TI laying on floor no use for it :stuck_out_tongue:
but some 3080 cards are bad quality not properly made …

Besides of the fact that they can’t reach a high overclock with high voltage that means that they run on ~15mhz peak slower?

Because you won’t even notice that difference in the majority of games, assuming your CPU is not the bottleneck.

Also; it’s not the 3080 design that’s the problem.

News time :stuck_out_tongue:

Don’t use Gamer Meld or other rumor/reaction type channels as new sources. As for GPU cards - none were recalled as of now and only some pre-production units that went to reviewers were replaced.

seriously, you do not need anything more than 1050ti or better
