Ru Language at EU servers

Hi everyone.
After february I decided to try start to play at EU servers and everything is cool.
I rly like to play with nice non toxic ppl
But sadly I’m not so good in english to easily understand quest text or english-language cutscene and it’s make me sad because new addon coming and there will be so many interesting stories to read and listen.
Is there any chance that Blizz can make possible playing with ru language in eu server? Maybe only for quests and cutscenes or don’t know…

You’ve made tbe first steps to improving your English by playing on EU servers. Keep practicing it and you’ll be fine. For the record, i play m+ sometimes with a Russian guy and his English has massively improved in the 4 years ive known him

Ty for answer.
Yes, u’re right but it takes time and all I want is enjoy the story of this game. That`s a bit hard when u’re playing with non native language.
This is impossible for now to make ukrainian version of translation so only variant is ru.
I mean for comfortable gaming or me and other ppl from Ukraine or any other region.

That’s not a big problem for me to understand people or write in english, I’m playing PvP and raid with non-russians and that’s fine
Only problem for me is quest texts.
Oof, sry for my english

I thought there was a settings toggle for it - wanted to play in German once but had to leave the idea as it messed up my macros :frowning_with_open_mouth:

So there is a language setting somewhere in either Video or Interface in the menu OP, try checking again to be safe?

Sadly you can’t play with russian language in EU servers, only with English :c
I can’t even enter EU servers if there ru text or spoken language in settings

I understand the struggle of understanding English, and sadly the best option is to try to get more exposed to this language - as uncomfortable as it sounds. That is the fastest way of getting experience comprehending the language, and at some point you will experience that you fully understand the language presented to you without the need of looking up words.

I recommend using the dictionary Wktionary (en.wiktionary.org) as it is free and have a comprehensive amount of words and terms in the database.

Well try to learn basic English words .for rest of it pretty sure you can find Russian players in all servers

God… There is no problems to speak in English with people for me -_-

Try addon [QTR-Quests - Addons - World of Warcraft - CurseForge]

keep at it and get better at english

its important to find jobs even though nobody fundamentally cares

I understand that it might be difficult, but looking up unknown words in a dictionary is a great way to learn. Maybe you could keep a browser tab open in the background that you can switch to whenever you’re stuck with something in a quest text. Maybe a mobile phone or tablet app will be more convenient.

Tell me about it
Caroon Network (back in the 90’ when the shows were good, and thats a hill I’m willing to die on), movies with original language and video games taught me the language, they suceeded where the teachers failed

When you play a game sometimes you just wanna chill. Not to learn. That’s like when you reading interesting book or watching movie. Sometimes its rly good to learn language using games, books or TV series, yep. That’s more fun and easier then learning by book like in the school. But there is time when you want just make a cup of tea sit comfortable and play or read or watch something without thinking “what does this word meaning?”

I heard you guys, that wasn’t the answer I actually want to read, but anyway ty for advice <3

I mean it’s not uncommon (though somewhat sad) for videogame companies to effectively separate communities like the Russian speaking ones from others with different servers by limiting the languages (just look at League of Legends for example). There are a few reasons but I’m sure one of those is that they’ll have less drama to deal with (you still see prejudiced people come to voice their unsolicited opinions on the forums from time to time).

It isn’t a problem of separating . Most Russians can’t speak English well .it is same problem in turkey . The education system of a country plays an important role in whether majority of the people can speak English or not .

Trust me, we’ve requested this for like 16 years or more. Doesn’t seem to be happening. I’d personally love to play with Chinese translation since I’m studying it, but ah well.

You can try the US or Korean servers. Can play any language on those afaik. Otherwise… time to learn English. :stuck_out_tongue:

I can tell you’ve made progress.

Korean servers require proof that you are actually living in Korea .you need Korean social security number for it .

Same for China…

Not Taiwan though, so there’s that.
