Rukhmar and phasing

Hello everyone! Not sure how many of you are still trying to get the mount from Rukhmar – but those of you who do, you are most likely familiar with phasing issues when killing/trying to loot Rukhmar, which sometimes results in you not being able to loot the boss. Is anyone else annoyed by this? Do you have any “workaround” for that?

I’m still trying to get that mount as well, but I didn’t quite get it what you meant by phasing. I did have a couple of times where I couldn’t loot the boss too though. Max level characters are a bit too overgeared for Rukhmar by now, and if ranged classes kill it before it lands its corpse won’t fall down to the ground sometimes and gets stuck in midair instead, making it impossible to loot. No workarounds for that one, and its a very annoying glitch as well.

The phasing is a pain depending on where people kill him. I have played that game of peekaboo, can see the body, move towards it, body is gone, fly back a bit, body is there, rinse repeat.

I have occasionally dragged another mob as close to the body as I can and killed it to get loot and providing Rukhmar is in range it will pick up the loot off that body too.

I find it’s much better to drag Rukhmar straight down to the ground when he spawns. If he dies on that lump of rock that people like to stand on when camping, it’s often a phasing nightmare.

@Savoren What Punyelf said. You know that tall rock where most people usually wait? If Rukhmar flies around it, it somehow gets phased to god knows where and when that happens you lose target and, sometimes, is very very hard to loot.
I do like Punyelf’s suggestion regarding looting, though. Does that work when Rukhmar is killed in air as well?

Providing you can get a mob close enough. it’s tricky sometimes.

I kill rukhmar where he spawns, on the platform of the dungeon. I don’t think this place is affected by phasing.

Sounds like a good idea. Can you stand on it and taunt him or do you need to lead him there?

While this is a good idea, it’s sometimes hard to pull him the moment he spawns…since I’m mostly tabbed out when I camp world bosses :confused: So my best bet atm is to pull him just under where he spawns (which is a bit of a gamble as well due to the fact he might die in the air >.<) and hope he doesn’t remain unpulled long enough to make the turn behind the rock – that’s when the phasing fiasco usually starts.

As I’m melee I tend to just fly through him and get him to follow me straight down. Works fine as long as no one hits him mid air.

His spawning animation is quite obvious, perhaps increasing volume might help with getting back in time, the animation takes a good short while. He also spawns very close to the platform so I think 20 yard range abilities can easily reach him as he spawns.
