Runelocked Chests

During my wander, I encountered a runelocked chest, (candy crush one) with no world quest or no purpose whatsoever, does anyone know how do we unlock these boxes ? I kept playing candy crush in that chest puzzle for 10 mins then I got bored. I thought maybe I would randomly open that chest. Any useful answer is appreciated.

Is that one of the ~6 chests from this video ?

Stupid question, but you notice the entry in your quest bar on the right that said something like “clear 30 yellow runes”?

You can open the chest by doing what it says, but if you’re just busting any old runes at random you may simply not hit the count of the type required for it :slight_smile:

I specified that, knowing this kind of question is coming if I didn’t. There’s no indicator to do anything.

there do seem to be some chests with the jewel puzzle in that don’t tell you what to do - if its a WQ then yes it tells you - but others do not

You need to find the start of a questline that will lead to you unlocking special World Quests linked to those chests. During the questline you will learn about these magic-infused locks and the creator behind them.

Unfortunately I don’t remember the name of the quests or how I stumbled upon the start of the questline :frowning:

I know exactly which one you mean, I always assumed it would be a WQ but there is also that weird crystal in a cave that no quest ever leads to as well. Maybe it’s a secret?

Hello. Pay more attention to letter near jewel chests. This letter contains a hint how to unlock jewel chest. Something like “I love red color or i hate blue color”. And then you need to set this colors in a row of 3-4.
