Obviously we all know the character animations in wow aren’t too great, though they have been greatly improved since WoD with the new character models.
They’re still quite dated, since they mostly tried to emulate the original animations to not make it too different or whatever.
Anyway, even though there’s a lot to improve upon, how about changing the ridiculous running animations when holding a weapon. I get that your character swings their arms while running but how the hell are you going to keep swinging your arms if you’re holding 2x your body weight of steel in your right hand.
All ya gotta do is make that arm more static and slightly sway along with the body movement, though I get that it would be more work for larger weapons but tbh for weapons like greatswords and 2h axes the character should be holding them with both hands while running as well. The only 2h weapons that could be exceptions are staves and polearms.
Anyway this is obviously not high up in the priorities and it probably never will be but it bothers me so there.
It’d help if they customised the weapons to the race.
A Void/Blood Elf for example looks ridiculous with these massive weapons. I made a female Belf DH and mogged the Warglaives of Azzinoth on it. I just shook my head and deleted it.
They should just make it so that when you run with warglaives you run like illidan in warcraft 3.
Polearms and staves should be held in a stretched right hand slightly outward and slightly behind the character. All other 2h weapons should be held with both hands and it should look like they’re really heavy and almost like they’re being dragged along although they wouldn’t be touching the ground.
It would also be cool if 2h maces and maybe 2h axes would be held over the shoulder while running. In that case only greatswords would be held with both hands whilst running.
1h weapons should be held like the polearm (as I described above), with one weapon on both sides for dual wielding or a shield held close to the chest for tanks.
