Running prepatch on old hardware

Up until this week I’ve been running wow on my old laptop with a GT555M graphics card. I know it’s ancient and not supported but it worked fine until the DF prepatch. Now it starts with a blank screen and gx.log gives an out of memory error. Is there any command line or config option I can try to still get this to work? I’ve already tried setting gxApi but that didn’t change anything. If not, that’s understandable, but I thought I’d ask before throwing it out.

That’s the same video card I have, it worked perfectly until they released the pre-release patch, but ever since that day it tries to open the game, and all I get is a white screen, with the game cursor and background music. I’ve tried every single “solution” I could find in and out of the forums but nothing has worked so far. I also opened a ticket regarding this issue the day of the pre-release patch, but of course, no answer so far. I’m beyond frustrated, because I had just renewed my subscription a week prior.

However, it works perfectly fine with Classic, but Retail is another story :frowning:
