Funny how a few weeks ago everyone was crying about russian BG groups and how they should get banned and all the russian forum trolls were stating how inferior EU players were…
I have played 72 BGs since Wotlk Release and have NOT LOST a single BG to any russian group. Wether AV, WG or any other BG… why is that? Because people stopped insta /afking out and actually play the game (most of them at least).
So no, it wasn’t the russian premades dominating… it was just a loser mindset that was the problem

Yep, had a few AV’s where ppl didnt leave right away. Won every one. It tooks a bit longer, but the honor is insane. The problem is when ppl see Russians in AV, 10 of our players leave right away. Till we get to mid, we fight 30 vs 40 ( maybe less ). No wonder they farm us then like crazy

I’ve done at least 20 AVs vs. Russian teams this weekend on my geared 78 resto druid. Played hard each time til the end. The Russians won every one, since most of our team leaves. So I really doubt you’ve done many AVs against Russians.
I will say that I’ve started to enjoy the AVs though, win or lose. I’m trying to get ally 79 twinks to start doing these AVs- the games will get closer if they do.

in all honesty russian players are actually worse than your average EU pve andy player. they win because they dive on the whole ally team after 20+ ppl have left (as someone else said) and funnel us up into GY.
i have this working theory that the /afking was never actually because it was a guaranteed lose, but because of some cult hivemind behaviour that made people think they’re going to contract some disease if they play with evil russian man. people just follow the crowd from there.
Yeah, it’s a loser mentality. Anyway, if you have a geared ally toon in the 71-79 bracket and like a challenge, queue AV. About a third will be against Russians. You’ll probably lose the bg overall, but there are a lot of minigames within AV- killing Galv, etc.
I always try to pick our top damage guys and pocket heal them. I like playing with the guys who stay- real pvpers.
The mass afk was dictated by the meta. If you wanted to farm honor efficiently it was better to leave and suffer the 15 min long deserter penalty than to tryhard against the russian turtle tactic that could take up to 30 minutes.
Not to mention some people that simply leave to make a point, either political or in-game related (unfair treatment in regards to group forming).
We’ve got too many beta males in EU pissing themselves when they see Cyrillic letters. If they stopped bein’ such disgusting sissies, they’d soon realise that they’re dealing with another random bunch of WoW nerds who probably suck just as much as your next guy in BGs.

At least in the 71-79 bracket, I doubt the whole premise of his post. Russians have been totally dominant there this weekend, unless the 20 bgs I was in were somehow a statistical aberration.
Nae, nothing has changed with the ruski. I queued Wintergrasp a week ago, faced Russians. They tried to turtle hard. Problem was, they were on the attacking side, so their turtle strategy didn’t work quite well 
The problem is people just wanna pve race alterac valley and the game is allowing this for them, would be nice if av would be more about defending and not just rush in however this need a changes for this battleground. Russians are just countering you rushing mini boss and they fight mid afterwards which also lends to long BG that people don’t like.

Most people want quick, 10 - 15 min games (win or lose). They don’t want to have a 45 min game where they get very little honour and no xp (most people in AV are levellers now) because it starts as a 40 vs 30 when 10 people auto leave at the start.
Bcause brutal gear was good in tbc while wotlk pvp gear is utter trash.
Wont explain obvious things to rusians amymore. Its pointless waste of time
