This won’t happen, if someone didn’t decide to play geopolitics in feb 2022, idk also where you live now, but if u use YouTube to see situation in Ukraine u definitely not here
We have a saying in Sweden, their is never so much lying like before a election, under a war and after a hunt. Meaning take everything governments tell you under a war with a grain of salt. Everyone wants to win. And the psychological battle is the biggest battle.
Apart from that, I don’t know if you can download the English client and login, if you can you could seek out Russian modders and have them make a mod that translates the UI with AI. There are some mods already that translate questy and there is also the mod voiceover if you want everything more immersive read to you with AI RPG voice. You could ask the authur of that mod to make a russian voiceover.
I feel you.
Do know that most in Western Countries still supports Ukraine. Russia is the cancer of the world and especially for Eastern Countries.
And if this guy is not russian, then russia propaganda works good.
Speak for yourself.
This guy is partially right, there are lots of “interesting” things happens, just for info, writing from 30km from frontline
Sure! Bombs aren’t happening. People don’t die.
…and partially? Like what part is he right?
This is game forum, I have already told too much for this place )
It doesn’t seem like the rus want peace, they are still attacking as we see
No - absolutely should not happen
As much as I’m against Russias invasion of Ukraine, preventing russians (and ukranians) from playing WoW won’t exactly do anything to help the current situation.
Quite the opposite in fact, if anything, it might make it ever so slightly worse.
Oh my, I thought this would be another biased hater thread.
Sadly this time around there are no american server rules, like on Hardcore Classic, when you can have interface on any supported language. Hopefully by the time Wrath anniversary edition launches in 2027-ish and before Legion Classic (2019) launch around 2028 all Russian speaking players would be able to pay subscriptions directly to Blizzard from their bank accounts just like me, who lives in the EU.
No thank you, it is bad enough to have to European server where 50% population doesn’t speak English, without also throwing Cyrillic lettering in the mix.
European server is European. English is not even the majority language - German is And many EU citicens, among those Bulgarians also use the Cyrilic alphabet. And what about Greek?
As long as there’s only one EU server, all EU languages should be equal.
Lingua Franca of Europe is English. English is the most common business language used in Europe by a large margin and the same for European citizens in foreign language it is not even close. Slightly over half of Europeans have the ability to communicate in English to varying degrees.
To claim German is the “majority” language is delusional, only 13% Europe can speak German and there are very few people who know German as a second language. German will never be the main language for anything international.
We used to have English/German/French etc servers in WoW, it should go back to this. Those Europeans who joined British servers back in the day were usually from countries with high English fluency like the Netherlands or Scandinavia and less so people from the ex-soviet or Balkan who in many cases can struggle to communicate except in their own language or russian.
I have played on more than a few servers where Russian becomes Lingua Franca and is used with Cyrillic alongside a primarily eastern euro population.
It quickly becomes unplayable for western euro players who use English and not russian for international communication
No. Blizzard should block Russians from playing their games altogether. Putin is threatening Europe with nukes and you want to play WoW with us? Good one dude.
German is the majority-language in as much as more have this as their mother tongue than any other EU language, and the lingua franca is mostly English, that’s right. Rest of your statements are personla opinions. If you look at native languages in EU (not Europa - which would make Russian by fra the largest) German is the first language of 97 millions, French 81 millions, Italian 65 millions, English 63 millions.
And if we should have one server for each European language I would be very happy indeed because I think small is beautiful.
The server I played at, was truly multi-lingual, with Hungarian, Russian, Roumainan French, Swedish and Danish guilds in large amount. I liked it, but then I always liked travelling, and have done so extensively since I was very young.
your message as true as: players from russia already use english client for years without any issues.
This should never happen, i would even ask to ban players from russia on EU realms totally because of one reason: russian-speaking players report ukrainians without any reason, e.g. recruter from Ukrainian guild write advertisement to join the guild in LFG channel and russian-speaking players just mass report this player.
so this is a HUGE reason to ban russians from EU server at all.
for example you can search for tiktok video from user ravlik_warcraft, who describes how he was banned.
the guy in the video is telling that he was banned for 1 week by russians for no reason and Blizzard of course does not investigate it, because Blazzard doesn’t care, no real GM look at the case, automated mass-reporting tool just do the job.
If russians act as barbarians not only in the real life, but also in-game - they must be banned from EU servers. No reason to have them on EU especially because they already got their RU servers.
I, personally, as a russian-speaking recruiter was mass reported on EU-server this time and got a warning, not a ban because i’ve never had a bans or warning before since first burning crusade. And i did’t spam like a maniac but just clicked once in a while, Twice in an hour at best. We don’t do such actions, like you described, all politics in russian-speaking guilds are prohibited. Probably in all of them. It’s a game, and i don’t care what nation you’re IRL. You’re undead. In games we run away from reality, bringing it here is a moveton.
More propaganda LOL …
Really? Ok, maybe you do not support the war IRL ( maybe ), but what happens with those who do supports the war IRL and are in WoW, running around like “nothing happens” ? And then ask to “respect” them because “its a game”.
Sorry, but can’t do that. You are asking me to close my eyes to what “that dude” do IRL just because online “its just a game”.
I have said the same and I will say the same. They should be banned.
For the record, I have this “idiology” long before the war, since I first “met” them online. They are rude, barbarians, they have no “sport” in them if it requires to play as a team, etc. In HoTS back in like 2015-2017 when I played , they would often…and I mean OFTEN start feeding, going afk, acting like …you know, some caveman, etc.
Bah! The moment I see a rusian name in ANY party I am in WoW , I will insta /leave and also give the following “I will not party with russians.”
Too bad if you’re worried about what country the person on the other side of the screen is from instead of enjoying the game. Just like you judge people by their nationality.
