Russians players

Hi guys!
Sorry for my English.
I wanted to know why European people hate Russians?
I live in Ukraine, I am Ukrainian, and I have a lot in common with Russians.
In every raid, in every dungeon, Europeans insult me, because of my nickname. They think I’m Russian. Phrases in style:

Shut up, slavic

Oh, these Russians …

Delete the game, russian freak

In Europe, they believe that the Slavs play bad? I have 1,400 Rio, they have the same, and recently they told me that I was bad, and i was boosted by Europeans. But I myself have earned this rating. Why are you so angry? Why do we have a bad reputation?

Did we do something bad for you?
I never left the group, never broke the keys, never did regequit, never insulted.

I think it’s just how it is, not because of any spcific hate, but because they have a word to pin some words to

Ever listen to how people are towards a squeker?
Just as awfull, only here they switch russian out with kid.

I’m afraid it’s a game culture, where people grasp whatever they see
“oh look cyrillic letters - different from what I know” - and the reaction is what you experince

In that same vein, I am European and I have never insulted a Russian player just for being Russian.

I have been kicked from a Nighthold Mythic run along with every other person who wasn’t Russian after four bosses because they decided they would kick all non Russians. I’m not going to judge all Russians by their actions. You shouldn’t judge all Europeans by the actions of a few.

the world doesn’t hate Russians, just a particular continent across the pacific hates you. The Russians saved the world in world war 1 and 2, the rest of the world think you guys rock.
There is some slight dislike because you guys kinda ruin pugs chances in pvp and that’s where some sort of animosity comes from … that’s all.

youll always meet some sort of scumbags online, that’s the nature of the world wide web, but just remember most of the world owes their freedom from fascism because of the Russians and we all think you guys rock and the people that think you don’t, well they aren’t worth worrying about.

I don’t insult them just for being russian, ofcourse
But, during raids when communication is key, then more often than not, they won’t communicate. If i’m explaining tactics then ask questions and they don’t reply, then i’m not going to give them the chance to mess up, wipe, and ruin it for everyone else.
But that goes for everyone, regardless of their name

Do not think everyone hates russians just because there is some loudmouths being rude! Those are racists people and should not be taken as views of main populus.

I personally like russians (and also ukrainans) a great deal. I know some irl and they are all nicests people ever. They make amazing food, are very hospitable and warm people. Ones i met in game all have been nice too, no complaints here.

Yeah been crushed on pvp by “russian premades” but i would feel stupid to hold grudge for someone playing better than our side. Most of those are not even premades any more than we are (group of people stuffed together from same language group) “english premade” so ehh. :joy:

Tbh I think most people who are toxic towards Russians or those with Cyrillic names are more than likely butthurt neckbeards who once got beat by a Russian player and can’t get over it. Just ignore and move on if/when you meet that kid of behaviour. Most Europeans don’t care where you come from etc etc as long as you are a decent person too

We just dislike them in games, mostly for the same reason: they refuse to communicate.

I was once in a raid. A person with “Russian” name kept doing things they weren’t supposed to, after I told them to stop (without any insults, including insults toward being a Russian) they kept doing it and after a few mins I got whispered “S*ck my Russian **ck”. After that I realized a few things…

First I want to say that people are individuals. Then, unfortunately I have had lot of bad time playing with russians. Lack of communication, refusing to cooperate, lack of patience and usage of bad language and insults. Lately I have seen same behaviour from southern European players. Are those nations just too proud? I don’t know, I can’t tell.

To be honest, some WoW players hate all people no matter what country you’re from.

The community became very toxic nowadays. People hate each other in BGs, PvP, raids and especially in m+ content. It’s just what WoW has become.

Look at PUGs life. It’s incredibely disgusting sometimes. People will hate you for everything: low dps, fails, 30 sec afk and many other things. But you can’t do anything with it, it’s just a part of MMO. Unfortunately

Basically, the more actual people you have to face in game, the more trash you might hear about you, your country, color of skin, relegion and etc.

Progress group contents tend to do that with communities. But ever since Legion whenever I participated in something that was not connected to endgame I noticed that the Wow community is one of the “cleanest” ones. Generally people are rather nice in this game.

Imo its because of cyrillic~ its annoying to look at and you dont have a clue what this “crazy” person is writing to you. Even when you will try to write english words using cyrillic then to your surprise I will not understand a word.

People would hate on China, Korea or any other country with huge language barrier as well~ its kinda natural to dont like people that refuse or are unable to communicate in common (filthy orcs ).

Noone know what is my country…

I don’t think it is a specific hate towards Russians. Rather there are just some toxic people in the game that will attack whatever they can about you.

I dislike grouping with “russian” players for one simple reason:
I cant write their names

I have to call them russian rogue etc.
This by itself makes me more indifferent to the russian player and so I tend to kick them quite fast out fo raids and other groups if they dont react immediantly.

No they didn’t.

World War 1 - They laid down their arms November 1917 - War ended November 1918

World War 2 - Pushed to the brink of defeat but recovered well and would have probably reached Berlin first if the Germans hadn’t decided that they’d rather the Western Allies reach Berlin first to save the people from Russian atrocities (as a retaliation to German atrocities against the Russians).

While they were a big part they couldn’t have done it on their own, the same with the Americans and the “we saved your a$$” brigade. Each country played their own part and such things like “x saved the world” diminishes what the other countries did.

Take the United Kingdom for example, if it wasn’t for their stalwart defense of the British Isles there would have been no base for the US troops to gather to advance on Normandy June 6th 1944. We’re also thankful for the multitude of nations that flew with the RAF during the fabled “Battle of Britain” where Hitler tried to bomb us out of the war.

And then I see the name Сфериэль and wonder what I might have committed in my previous life, that now I have to somehow write this name.
