RWF Changes that needs to be made

Dear Blizzard

I have for the last few years, every time RWF comes around, wondered if I should write to you regarding the opportunity I think you are missing out on, and the view improvement you could bring about.

So now I am.

There are a few reasons for why I write this, but first and foremost its for my own view experience. I also believe you have a massive marketing opportunity, one that will make it worth for you to assist RWF, not get involved, but assist.

RWF is a massive billboard for WOW, with over 100k views a day for how ever long the race is. It is community run and driven, and it is very fragile with only 2 -3 guilds being able to compete.

For a guild to be able to compete, it must have between 30 and 50 members, that can and will maintain up to 20 characters at a very high level. The guild needs several hundred millions of gold, and several hundred fans that are willing to help them run heroic raids and m+ and give the loot to the guild. At the last RWF during heroic week, Echo did some 160 to 180 heroic runs and countless m+ runs. The RWF before that with no heroic week they made around 120 heroic runs.

This for most guilds is insurmountable to overcome, and they, even though the players have the skill to compete, they can’t. Views don’t like the heroic runs the same bosses again and again, it is not what we want to look at, but it is what it takes to compete at this level as things are now.

What will happen if, let’s say liquid stops, then we are left with echo and method, but lets face it they are not even close to being able to compete with echo yet. Making the biggest billboard for wow very fragile, but with a 2-horse race, it is to be expected.

What if Blizzard could minimize the cost of entry and make RWF from a 2-horse race into a 5 or 6 or even 7 horse race. This would protect RWF and probably attract even more viewers, making RWF an even bigger event.

Now it is VERY important that Blizzard dose not get involved, but only assist RWF. There are a few things that you can do that will help other guild take part in RWF.

  • REMOVING THE NEED FOR 15 TO 20 CHARACTERS.
  • REMOVING THE NEED FOR 120 HEROIC RUNS
  • REMOVING THE NEED FOR MILLIONS OF GOLD.

So how do you do this without interfering in RWF.

  • By making a guild token that you give to the top 3 and anywhere for 2 to 5 other guilds. This guild token contains 25-to-27-character tokens, the tokens are locked to a mythic lockout together, characters without the token can’t join this lockout. This token will, when given to a player (specific character) give that character a buff that reveals a vendor that gives every piece of heroic level gear for this season.
    • This will remove the need for every player having 15 to 20 characters.
    • It will also remove the need for having to run an insane amount of gearing run.
    • It will also remove the need for gold to pay fans to help.

Now how many guild tokens and how many character tokens there should be in the guild token, is up for debate. And yes, it will not make it into a 5 to 7 horse race over night, it will take several seasons for other guilds to get the experience they need to be able to compete against the likes of echo and liquid. But now it will only be skill and experience that stops other guild from winning the title of world first.

Again I can not stress it enough for Blizzard not to get involved, but only assist. But doing it the right way can have a massive effect, and it will make RWF an even bigger event.

There is of course more that can be done, but this is the most important part.

If you have any questions, please reach out and I will help as much as I can.

Please make sure this make it into the hands of someone that can make this happen.

I don’t see that RWF players should get things the rest of the player base don’t if they are all playing on the same realms. It’s unfair.

If they want to move the RWF to a tournament realm like they do for other official competitions then so be it. However I don’t think the participants of the RWF want Blizzard to get involved in any official capacity. It’s lucrative as it is without their official involvment.

Wouldn’t F1 racing be so much easier if I could drive my granny’s mini in it. Would really open up the competition. I’m sure the audience numbers wouldn’t be affected at all…

Noone of these needed for the avg guild, only tryhards do this, which is like 5-6 guilds. The other thousands are fine without it.

Also rwf is entirely community made, blizz dont support it in any form.

Raids didnt make to be cleaned in the 1st 2 weeks anyway.
