Yup. As we keep repeating every few months. Cater to the 1% of your audience and that is howmuch percent of people will stay actively engaged.
WoW is glorified lobby game pretending to be an MMO. Until the devs realise what actually makes an MMO good - and it isn’t endless M+ grinding I can tell you that - the game will continue to lose subs. Metzen or no Metzen.

And by elitist jerks you mean anyone that likes pushing high content? Whats your criteria for an elitist jerk?
And your source for this is? The raid is already built, the bosses are already built.
Unless you have inside knowledge of how much time is spent on Mythic only mechanic development, you have no idea what this takes.

It is not that I watch the race but I have to defend the race now. Even your first 2 sentences are nonsense. People watch it or want to be a part of it because it is challenging and not all people can do it. Same as football or basketball, people watch it because most people are not good enough for those sports.
You for example would look like a clown if we were to put you into those progress raids.
And there is another side of it, people who watch it learn strats for bosses and when those bosses get nerfed it becomes much more easy to progress for normal playerbase later on.

It’s really not. WoW viewership dropped a lot with the years and Blizzard has cancelled much of their esports programs.
E-sports is simply not viable for most games. Fighting games are the only ones growing viewership.
The RWF itself is not a problem. The problems are:
- The developer atention/resources they take versus viewership and perceived benefits to the game population.
- The consequences to the other players (balance patches delayed, legendaries gated).
- The model of mythic and the low player participation versus the resources allocated.
The structure needs to change. My solution is a raid+ flex system. The WF guilds can compete all season long, go for ideal comps, whatever. The rest of the players don’t need to be affected by it and balance patches don’t need to be delayed or items/systems gated.

Isn’t the race is on for 3 days only? The previous raid was 4 days? Sepulcher was 18. It’s obviously getting easier… And, the game is not designed for raid to be cleared that fast, they are undefeated/tired/exhausted as well. This race shouldn’t exist, it’s obviously an exploit and they probably use drugs too

I agree fully with your opinion, however I think you are very rude with delivering it.
I personally think the RWF is such a stupid concept, but it doesn’t affect me one bit, so delivering such points wouldn’t sit right with me. Why?
a) Because I don’t raid mythic, and even if I did, by the time that I would have gotten to these bosses, they will be nerfed to the ground, meaning I wouldn’t spend 400-500 tries on Tindral, unless I would be playing with blind people.
b) if 100 people want to play 24/7 for 2 weeks and miss out on holidays like thanksgiving, christmas etc. let them be. I couldn’t care less for them.
c) It generates interest from people. which is not a bad thing.
That being said, I only find one negative side from people obsessing over Echo / Liquid stuff. And that’s this minmaxing / meta mentality, they bring to the table. For them, it’s understandable as they need to squeeze every 0.000001% they can get, however for incompetent barnacles doing +10s or normal bosses, stating how they need aug evokers / bm hunters / havoc DHs for maximum damage. Yeah, we got a problem there. These people deserve a kick to their head.
The legendary axe is delayed because of the RWF so yes it does affect everyone looking forward to getting it. Esports is toxic for wow and has no place in a mmorpg.
So many things we cannot do anymore just because some sweaty teletubby might get some 0.0001% advantage.
Not to mention the amount of hotfixes Blizzard throws out during it compared to existing and well known bugs that go unfixed for years… But this… This has to get fixed instantly because its sooooo important.

Is it announced if it can even be obtained by those people? By noobs? If the quest doesnt drop on normal most of these who are looking forward to it wont get the axe for weeks anyway, since most people here are not capable of killing fyrakk on HC for months, let alone mythic.
No its free adverticing and helps the game. You dont have to do the hardcore stuff, you can still do your low raids or m+ without that you are affected by RWF.
NOT RWF related just blizzard being lazy.
Mythic Raiding should purely be a RWF event. Once completed (per region) they should become unavailable. This should have titles, tabards and achievements which would be extremely rare - only one guild per region 9maybe server like the old AQ40 opening).
Heroic Raiding should have 10 and 25 modes and be harder than now. This should be the aspirational level for high end players.
Normal should be Flex.
LFR should be easier than now, basically story mode.
If there are enough people watching this means it is interesting to them. Who are you to decide what people’s likes and dislikes are? In my opinion the race is a good thing because the raids are always to hard. It gives Blizzard time to make more changes.
RWF is a spit in our face after we pay our sub, is Blizzard saying thank you and fu to the vast majority of players, focusing on the 1% instead, tuning everything for them, adjusting everything for them, disregarding the vast player base and their needs.

Not really, Mythic is the first difficulty they develop, later development goes into the lower difficulties and balancing out the removed mechanics. This is something Blizzard have stated themselves on their approach to encounter design. LRF is the difficulty that requires the most work.

And what would you consider being ‘raised right’ to mean?

sorry my sarcasm was lost in translation
We’ll outgear RWF teams a few weeks after the race so it doesn’t matter if the content is tuned to be too tight for them right now.
The main challenges of mythic raiding is roster management, scheduling, leadership and player retention. The actual difficulty is the smallest problem.
