After an entire expansion of being laid-back casual, I am thinking of rolling healers to have ready for running a LOT of M+ come SL - but which are the “safe choice”?
Do you think it will be Rdruid and Hpal again?

Trees are always a safe choice.
But depends on how high you want to go with keys, whether you’ll run with friends or with PuGs. If you run with pugs, go with druid, can’t go wrong. If you run with friends, then play whichever healer you find the most fun.
I will most likely pug. I think I will go for the tree then. Thank you a lot for your answer
just need to look at the tool kits. The healing will be adjusted if necessary but the tool kit will stay the whole expac.
Healers with good tools:
Druid (strong healing, good utility and good dmg)
Monk (big dmg & strong heal & good utility in RoP, AoE stun…)
Avg.
Pala (currently strong because of instant large healing and mega dmg)
Trashcan
Priest (low dmg & immobile healing) & Shaman (low aoe dmg, immobile healing)
If blizz wanted to achieve balance in M+ they would easier increase the healing and dmg of priest and shaman by a lot to make up for the bad utility or give them some tools.
So if you strip the classes right now of all healing and dmg (because we don’t know how it will be tuned), see what is left and choose from there.
Thank you a lot for that “list” there It made so much sense to me.
I think I will make both a monk and a Druid. Now is as good a time as any, you hit 120 almost before you blink your eyes atm
I would suggest you to see if you like the play style. They all play pretty different from each other and I guess it is to what you prefer the most.
My shaman is my main, but for the love of me I cannot handle resto. I am just bad at it, no idea why.
Also druid is not my cup of tea because I dislike the keep up all the hots playstyle.
Probably make a lvl 100 test char first
I am not sure you should take that list very serious though. At least not with these arguments. “strong heal” is a number measurement, that can just be through the floor like resto shaman had in season 1, and needed buffs till season 3. Hard to call a class immobile when there is something like spirit walker grace and unlimited ghost form to position yourself well.
Can you REALLY test a healer’s playstyle if the class trials don’t even let you do instances? You can check a damage dealer’s playstyle by messing around with the rotation, but it seems more difficult for a healer.
Well I played healer from BC till and with Legion, so I know how they play ^^ I just really want a “safe bet” for M+ in which I do not have so much experience past Legion, to go with as early as possible. In Legion I started out as RSham, Then went for Disc… Disheartened I then started a Hpal but I never got it so far lol.
Grinding is always a long process in the start of an expansion, hence why I this time would like to make the safest choice possibly, so I wont have to reroll
i think the “safe bet” are the resto druid and hpala. They have been strong since legion and both been top tier for a long time. They both also have very good utility and healing mechanics for dungeons.
But when blizz ducks over numbers, there is no other way than rerolling. Blizz is so slow with their balance-changes that you are kicked out for a tier or longer when something is off. Like resto shaman needed so many buff… it was sort of unplayable in s1. And that after being a very good healing class in legion. Only missing better defensives and/or external (tank)defensive
you can test if you like the hot style, direct heal style or cd management style.
its not like you have much of a choice anyways. Testing is free, so won’t hurt if you try.
Yes, but what can you actually try if you don’t have the chance to actually heal a group using one of these three styles? Not even in some sort of low level dungeon or raid. Instances are restricted to class trials.
well works for me but I also know what I am getting into.
So if you cant do that, then don’t do it. was just a suggestion that is free and not time consuming at all.
