How about servers where horde is underpopulated like Zandalarian Tribe?
Why dont you get out of the forum? I bet youre one of those who were against horde vs horde…
You are correct sir, i think free faction change was way better solution, or the rep pvp gear

Sure, it’s circumstantial - but Horde racials are way less so than Alli.
WotF is effective vs 45% of the field - the comparative on Alli is sitting the CC, something that can very reliably lose you the game.
Orcs defensive is effective vs 40% of the field (higher if you do 2s) - immuning a 5 cp Kidney probably wins you the game right there. Immuning a Cheapshot lets you cc the opener of the rogue > probably ending the go right there. You also have an offensive CD which is always relevant.
The chances of Orc racials being useful in an arena game is 100%. The chances of WotF is also super high (unless you fight druid/rogue teams).
Compare that to Alli racials:
Gnome: awesome vs frost mages if you’re a warri or mage doing 2s with a rogue. Other than that - ehhhhhhh. (mages are 9.6% of the field.)
NElf: lol
Human: Awesome at low gear levels & people who don’t know how to dodge it. Reasonably counterplayable though. Loses most of its value starting Season 2. Super nice vs Rogues, not really that great vs most other comps.
Draenei: lol
Dwarf: Super solid Season 1&2 on priests. That’s it.
Aaand there you have it. Horde Racials are good/great most of the time vs Alli racials that are really good early in tbc but lose a lot once you get into season 2/3/4. From a purely competitive perspective the choice is rather clear. Just look at the % of pros playing on horde vs alli.
And sure, it won’t make a difference of 400 rating. But even only winning 3-5% more of your games consistently is one hell of an incentive for most people.
For One Alliance unsub Will be 3 horde subs again, thank you Blizzard cant wait that this change Is come for stay.

What about the masks? Will the silly alliance masks still be in same faction bgs?
As for premades, limiting to 5 players feels like worst of both worlds. Did you consider the suggestion to match premades with premades and solos with solos?
You must be really triggered with that wall of text that I didnt even read when the facts are 55% horde 45% alliance. But I was very amused by your attempt to remove servers to make it appear that there are a lot fewer alliance than there actually is.
So I’ll just repeat: If your server has no alliance and you feel this is a problem, move. It is the same problem that low pop servers has. Trolling on the forums 24/7 regarding allowing hordes on all servers to play the actual game impresses nobody.
Your standpoint is the work of an infant anyways. If any horde would reroll to get fast ques they certainly wouldn’t pick a server with no alliance population anyways. So bottom line is that Blizzard overruled your little objection because you were utterly wrong on everything.

Whats the point of fighting premade vs premade with no addition rewards ? 0… Premades are originally designed to increase the win ratio against pugs /faster games etc /
It’s just another carrot on a stick. Seven day test phase for sub renewals that’ll soon be over and they’ll come back in 3-4 weeks with another carrot.
It’s pathetic what they are doing here.
I personally look forward to 5+5+5 vs 5+5+5 games (hopefully they will happen), but premade removal is a mistake. They should have left it, if nothing then as an option to match only premades vs premades.
They screwed up on so many levels (biggest screw up was lvl58 boost that had chain reaction and generated all of these problems in the first place) and they are now giving band aid fixes, nothing else.

Lol. You mean stomping hopeless pugs, I guess.
Premades ruing the game experience for pugs. The point of playing premades is to cater for people who “want to play with friends”. 5 players is still too many, especially for WSG.
And if different teams of 5 get matched with other teams of 5 this changes nothing.

I don’t understand. How is that fun?
Why would you not want to play against people with equal advantage of winning? Or is premades just for people that are bad at the game?

If i want to play against people with equal skills or better, i would just do duels or arenas to improve…

Very mature, very mature. It is kind of tragic that your reaction is so common nowadays. My post was this long because it actual takes time to analyse and present data. You on the other hand dismiss everything what I wrote as “trolling” while your posts are basically purely emotionally written and don’t include anything more than 1 generic data pair (which I dismantled as beeing statistically irrelevant)
My point was to proof you and everybody else that your approach doesn’t even scratch the surface and when you attack people and call them out for basically beeing dumb you should have more at your disposal then such a shallow post. No data analyst firm will hire you if you draw conclusion with only a limited number of data that is available to you. And since I graduated and work in STEM I think I can evaluate that.
What people like you don’t get and what Blizzard finally learns after ignoring it in retail for so long is that social dynamics is by far the biggest driving factor in the game. And that is what alliance players are afraid of.
But I was very amused by your attempt to remove servers to make it appear that there are a lot fewer alliance than there actually is.
I didn’t remove servers - You did. I specifically stated the importance to analyse faction balance on a server level.
Your standpoint is the work of an infant anyways. If any horde would reroll to get fast ques they certainly wouldn’t pick a server with no alliance population anyways.
See and that is what you don’t get. A free faction transfer shouldn’t be a free ticket to a another/bigger server. You just allow people to switch sides on the same server. If horde pop reaches a critical mass you automatically activate a free transfer to alliance and the other way around. Yes the majority wouldn’t take such a deal but a fraction might consider it and that COULD be enough. We don’t know since such a system was never tested.
A and a bonus question for you because you like to point out that 45/55 is fairly balanced. How much more alliance players are needed to reach 50/50? (Hint: It’s not 5%)

I like your approach, but I don’t know if what you’re suggesting is fruitful.
I would assume 3 main factors go into the choosing of a faction:
a) aesthetics
b) community / players
c) competitive advantage
I think we can safely ignore a.
The current issue in classic is that both b & c favours horde quite substantially.
Regarding c: Unless Blizzard starts paying streamers to play on Alli, they don’t have that much over the community itself. If you compare retail: there is literally nothing Blizz can do short of removing factions alltogether to solve this. The player (number & skill) difference between alli and horde is simply too huge.
Regarding b: Here we have two main levers: balancing endgame content vs balancing accessibility.
Endgame content would be something like balancing racials. i.e. improve allis position or nerfing horde. This actively impacts player choice, as you decide with the end goal in mind, what you want to pick.
Balancing Accessibility would be reverting the BG change for instance. And sure, that would lead to a better faction balance - but probably because more horde just stop playing, than them migrating to alli. (You would have an easier journey to your desired gear, but would be worse than the competition on horde - so horrible decision really). Here the opt-out would probably be to stop playing.
As such, let’s please solve the balancing issue (especially in later seasons) and not get to wound up on accessibility. It’s fantastic if more people can participate in arena <3
Let me preface this with saying I am super happy you guys got HvH BGs The BG queues were horrible and more people who farmed their honor gear means more people actually playing the game.
If we compare endgame PvP though, the picture is very different. Horde drastically outscales Alli.
And you’re right, the Tauren racial is not insane. It is still waaaaay better than NElf though (being the druid comparative).
Undead/Orc greatly outshines the alli competition as well. Especially once you reach S2 and following (the opener loses value the more gear you have; stun resists / WotF gets better and better). And sure, Bloodfury is not always usefull, but if you survived their burst and want to counter or you’re running a double dps set-up with no healing it is really useful.
Just look at the faction distribution of the pro players and high rated pvp
Yes, it’s really sad that the lovely, friendly mmo community that has come together to stomp pugs will collapse and can no longer cheese the honor grind.
Thank you for the communication! Thats worth a lot!
Thanks very much for this. The same faction + premade restriction is all I needed for the fun to come back.

let me pls correct that:
Alliance cried as hard as possible during first test due to getting stomped by premades, which would be the same scenario. Its as much a change favouring horde as it favours alliance; it favours solo player - not a faction.
Some people from alliance already crying that the rewards arent enough while they just got a bonus for free. I can tell you no Horde will cry about that - we just happy that we can play now. If alliance gets a bonus, take it. Iam good with it. Its the second bonus btw. Because seal of blood. But yea, we not gonna mention all that here, i know i know.
You got all da gifts for free and still complaining for no single reason.
But please: dont twist who realy is crying.
Open transfers horde–>alliance too
