Sandworn Relics are now BoA!

Sorry if someone else already posted this, but the relic change is live ahead of Season 4, for those interested. This is a good way to gear up fresh characters, as you can convert them to tier.

I agree.

So nice to have them BoA albeit bit late.

Nice, they only needed half a year to do that…

I already deleted them.

Gonna skip S4 either way…

Ooo, thanks for the heads up, I’d missed this change.

I’d been using them in the Catalyst to collect missing LFR transmog :joy_cat: To be fair, some of the sets are really nice in the LFR colouring.

Man that’s bad timing.

But yeah I had been saving them just in case they might make them BoA. I probably will just use them to get the lfr mogs.

This would have been useful to me months ago, now I don’t have many characters who need this :frowning:

Blizzard being Blizzard again and postpone making expansions actually great until it’s last patch.

Chances are they unironically felt that giving your alts 246 was too powerful in S3.

FINALLY

My raid toon has like 600 of them in her bag :joy:

typical blizzard move. release it broken, wait wait wait, fix it when its alrdy too late and nobody has need for it anymore. great success.

Have around 600 total of the relics, but… not sure if it will be any actual use. I mean, be glad to send them to my pally or druid and have fun but… it was enough to gear up one toon and grab the m+ mount with her.

At least I will be able to obtain the sets for collecting it’s appearances much faster when I sometime in the future reaches Shadowlands in my grinding of collectables.

Blizz add stuff this late just makes em a joke.

Have it on release next time, thx.

I was hoping they would eventually be made BoA so I saved all of mine. Think I have around 2,5k spread out on various characters.
Time to get 246 Tier gear on some alts!

I assume the pieces have to be a certain Ilvl before they can be converted to tier pieces?

The non-set Season 3 item from Mythic+, Rated PvP, World Boss Antros, Elder Rafiq (Sandworn Gear) or gear from Sepulcher of the First Ones you want to convert into a Tier Set item goes into the first slot. Keep in mind the non-set item is lost after the conversion.

What appearance the item will take (LFR, Normal, Heroic or Mythic appearances) will depend on what item level the piece converted on the Creation Catalyst is:

  • Items of 249 item level or lower will take the LFR appearance

  • Items between 252 and 262 will take the Normal appearance

  • Items between 265 and 275 will take the Heroic appearance

  • Items at 278 or above will take the Mythic appearance

PvP items will take their PvE items levels into consideration for their appearances. Converted items that can be further upgraded will change their appearance once upgraded past the threshold. IE: If you convert a ilvl 262 piece from Mythic+, it will initially have the Normal set appearance, but upgrading it once to ilvl 265 will change that piece’s appearance into the Heroic set appearance.

If you have a piece from M+ you can convert it to tier, then upgrade it, essentially getting both Nm and Hc appearances (providing you have the valor to do so).

This was EXACTLY my immediate reaction.
