Tight corridors, adds around every corner, there used to be a bug where you could pull aggro from other floors.
You know the usual.
Probably the worst dungeon from SL
I must’ve been lucky as I literally got the Memory off all sources on first attempt.
I like how people hated told dagor and blizz just str8 up gives us a shadowlands version of it
and i like it a lot - its finally cool vampire dungeon
but thats mostly because i dont do mythic+ o i can focus on esthetics instead of mad rushing dungeons
Tbf, i hate Necrotic Wake, Spires and De Other Side more. Way too much unavoidable damage and way too much trash mobs that cast nasty stuff. You have to have competent tank and DPS to interrupt all these casts, and those are rare in pugs.
DOS Dealer and Manastorms are the pinnacle of “What the hell is going on” stuff on Storming week. You have to do mechanics and even if it seems you did them the whole team still gets tons of group damage. Its frustrating as hell.
Kinda want to brag about, but i did gauntlet in Sanguine and killed Kaal as HPally with no weapon(!!! no CS), shield and couple items (they all were broken after Tarvold) on +6 while being around 190 ilvl. After that i stopped being afraid of this dungeon. Tarvold is the only major check point.
suddenly, blizz didn’t nerf this dungeon but nerfed spires and plaguefall. From my pov SD is hardest SL dungeon by far, both bosses and trash wise.
We did this dungeon for the first time this week on M+. Started on an +8… painfull but good learning curve. I still think the damage of 1st boss with the orbs is overtuned, and the 2nd boss is… maybe first see it without storming (but damn). Last boss is not 100% clear to me. We wiped only once there, so we probably were able to muscle through it.
This is one of those bosses you just have to get right though, but that goes for everyone in the group. I agree that failing on mechanics there is a complete mess of damage all over the place, but if mechanics are dealt with properly it’s a completely different and clean experience. It is especially visible on this one.
Edit: My quote is somehow broken… I only commented on the corridor boss paragraph.
Honestly have no issues either tanking nor healing the boss.
It’s literally keep walking backwards, move left, move right. Move left, move right.
Idk, even on tyra this one isnt as bad, unless people dont know where to stay, what to focus, and how to dodge, its ez boss .
That gauntlet is for sure a pain, not only for healer but for me as tank too, there is simply way too much of stuff, adds and boss, constant new adds coming which go for healer first, stuff dash here and there, to all of this i need to watch for his one shot spell ( gloom something? Where u need that special item) and storming on top of that. Its not exactly hard, its plain annoying to deal with realy.
It is very dependend who gets the circle, and if that player can get out. And how fast people can kill the add.
Maybe it is easier with a ranged group
True. Haven’t really had issues with people not moving though, I can imagine issues could arise then.
I understand your hatred for that dungeon, my most hated dungeon is Spires, main reason I had to do 30+ runs to get my legendary on my shaman which was from the last boss, and having to deal with druid tanks leaving on the first boss every time.
I agree, this dungeon is needlessly brutal.
Tarvold is just one long backpedal for the whole fight, and the gauntlet is about 50% too long for the average healer to actually have mana all the way through. (Hint for Blizz, please check healer mana consumption, it sucks in SL.)
The final boss requires ultra-tight movement timing and it’s a rare day when the entire group doesn’t get lasered.
Basically it just feels like they took 3 of the toughest bosses and put them all into this one dungeon.
It is, but my experience is that the party are constantly standing in the stuff on the floor, even when they’re moving as best they can. Multiple avoidance mechanics tend to make for a very stressful fight. Unless you go with an all-ranged group, there’s going to be a high demand on the healer.
2 of my group are paladins, and we have 4 melee The issue is not ‘not moving’ it is that the group is already moving backwards and the paladins have no option to get out faster than the group moves.
I, personally, really like Sanguine Depths.
I thought Halls would have been my favorite Shadowlands dungeon but after a few Sanguine run I enjoy it.
This I could agree with you OP, I have seen healers struggling with this boss.
This boss is not fun with two melee DPS and Storming.
Are they not able to bubble the channeled AoE to completely ommit the damage?
In our last try i got it 3 times in a row
Ouch. Unlucky that.
