I bought the Booster Pack from the WoW x Steel Series Collaboration, in order to get the Savage Ebony Battle Turtle Mount.
But I am kinda disappointed.
The mount looks pretty cool, but it is kinda useless, since it is so incredibly slow.
Yes, I know it’s a turtle, but we also got the Pandaren turtles for example, which also have the usual mount speed. And to be honest, this feels like a scam, for a (technically) 40€ mount.
Additionally you also have no option to refund this thing, since the code is of course already used.
So since this is just a ground mount by default, which already limits it’s uses, what would you use it for? Just for posing in Dornogal? Like this you can’t even use it properly in the few dungeons / raids you are allowed to ride in the first place.
Further is there no warning at all, that this is an incredibly slow mount.
Not on the Steel Series page, nor in WoW itself.
And I think by now it is common for each WoW-player to assume a ground mount increases the speed by 100% (ignoring other effects of course), like all other mounts do.
Sooo… this is technically false advertisement…
Here in EU we are already excluded from all the other promotion stuff happening in the US and this is one of the few things we are able to engage with, but it’s a pig in a poke.
Sorry, but I was really looking forward to get this mount and I’m super disappointed…
I would really like to have it changed, so it can be used as a regular mount.
But first start with putting a warning on the Steel Series page, so other won’t make the same mistake.
And while I’m already at it:
The page of the Booster Pack also does not say, this won’t include a headset. I first assumed this would come with a cheap version of the headset PLUS the plates. Thought this would be a really good deal, considering the other offered products.
A friend of mine already warned about this, since he ordered this a little earlier and made the same false assumption and was surprised too as the package was delivered.
Yeah… just 40€, a little suspicious, I know.
But it’s not like there are no low-price headsets out there.
Thought it’s just a bargain.
Unfortunately somewhat unobvious.
I guess some people may come to the right conclusion right away, that these are just the Horde / Alliance logo things, but for me… us this was very misleading.
(Especially, if your main focus is the mount - which is also displayed in a wrong way)
Edit:
Just found out, this mount is able to swim, like all the other water mounts.
This makes it at least a little bit less useless, but my main points still remain.
There are no information about this mount and what it actually does, or is used for.
For a “regular” mount I see no point of adding those additional information. But in this case, this is really necessary and should be displayed.
… Still want it to be a regular mount though… no need for having so many water mounts. I mean seriously… how often do you really need/use them? Once per month?
For this five minutes, I don’t really care on what I am sitting.
Sorry for my long excursion.
Have a lovely day
