Let’s see what’s next. Dungeons and dragons and bad storywriting is my best bet.
Things I want to see:
Player housing pleaseee
I must say I quite look forward to it.
I think it’s the first time that an expansion is announced digitally. It’s always been done at Blizzcon or Gamescom.
So I am hopeful that the reveal is carefully crafted to be ideal for a digital viewing experience. In the absence of a live audience cheering and sounding hyped, it’ll be interesting to see how the same excitement can be conveyed to me sitting in front of my computer.
Likewise with the whole panel setup that usually follows an expansion reveal at Blizzcon. What’s the setup going to be this time?
Is it fair to expect Blizzard to also drop the intro cinematic for the announced expansion? Because I’m kind of expecting that.
An announcement.
A trailer.
An intro cinematic.
A feature breakdown.
And a pre-order sales pitch.
That’s kind of the setup I’m guessing, and I wonder how it’ll measure up against the usual two-day long Blizzcon setup.
But we’ll see. It should be interesting.
My guess is still that the expansion is The Emerald Dream. Which has been my guess for the upcoming expansion the past 8 times and I’ve always been wrong. But this time I will be right!
I hope so as i can not take another si fi expac,
The more comments I read, the more I’m put off from WoW and wonder why I ain’t playing ESO
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let this be about life and restoration, something uplifting, the last 4 expansions have all been about death and destruction, is very dishartening and boring.
Bring the game to life man
thats wonderful news

Ok Blizzard, listen well. In order for next expansion to be successful, you need to:
I hope the devs realize that its a miracle that WoW is not completely dead after 2 horrible expansions in a row. That’s only possible because of the past of WoW. It would be about time that they actually put some effort into it and listen to the playerbase during alpha and beta testing. I really don’t care about Ion “learning his lessons” for the third time in a row and then making the exact same mistakes. I won’t waste any money to play a game that only gets tolerable 1 year after release.
Yes, WoW will have record sales, again. It’s up to you guys if it will bleed more than half of the playerbase in a month, again. Again, if not for WoW’s past and the amount of time investment players put into it, it would be New World’s level dead.
Words cannot describe how disinterested I am in a mobile warcraft game…
Please tell me that is not the main focus of the next 12 months?
Or if it is, break it to me gently so’s I know I should begin the process of de-addicting myself from WoW so’s I don’t break when it turns off.
I must admit I really struggle to understand how players can perceive Battle for Azeroth as a bad expansion.
Sure, Shadowlands has definitely been a long-drawn expansion with little added content because of COVID-19 and forest fires and so on.
But Battle for Azeroth had a ton of content! In terms of sheer volume, then that expansion was packed. And whether you prefer a zone like Mechagon or Nazjatar is subjective, but you did get both!
The Dungeons and Raids were solid. The leveling zones were solid. The cinematics were stellar.
And whether you enjoyed Warfronts or Island Expeditions is again subjective, but it was inevitably more content added to the pile!
The systems and gear design was polarizing for sure, but the bread & butter of the gameplay was the same as always. Do content, get upgrades, become powerful.
I mean, no offense intended, but if an expansion like Battle for Azeroth is perceived as horrible, then you may as well pack your bag and start looking for another game to play, because there is no way Blizzard can go much above and beyond the scope of an expansion like Battle for Azeroth.
Or then it has to be because what constitutes good versus horrible expansion is some tiny detail, like the amount of Pepe hats that exist.
But in terms of quantity of content, production quality of the product as a whole, and the bread & butter gameplay design, then it’s really hard to see how Battle for Azeroth doesn’t come across as solid all-around.
Blizzard didn’t cut corners with that expansion.
That is fine, but customization and visuals hype lasts for few days only. That is not enough to make expansion good.
I’m still fairly new here but I think I get what the previous person was trying to get at.
Sometimes the issue lies not with the amount of content but the content it’s self.
As an example let’s look at any open world Ubisoft game.
Absolutely stuffed with missions, side quests, enemy camps, collections and some variation of radio towers yet they’re still horribly boring games.
I’ve read a few posts by you before and I think it’s safe to say that you enjoyed your time with BFA and that’s great! You found something that for you was fun and you were able to focus on that but a lot of what I’ve read and watched about both BFA and SL leads me to believe that these expansions were not well received and 4+ years of unenjoyable content (as perceived by a section of the community) has in the past been enough to push a game into the grave.
