Scale of the sands ring-swap quest bugged out

I am preparing for Wrath Pre-patch and I have gone to the old Scale of the Sands place (The Mount Hyjal Faction). I want a new ring for a new spec.

I am ofcourse exhalted. I brought the ring. I have more than the required gold to make the swap. Here is the problem:

I have AP-ring. I want to swap to the Spell Damage ring. The quest requires me to bring the Spell Damage ring…which I don’t have…cause…that is the ring I want.

How can I rectify this?

Try delete it from your bags, talk to the npc to recover a new ring and then it should work to switch them for a fee.
