There is people in every country who don’t remember things teached in school. Trust me when i say, most finnish people know very well geographical facts about their own country. Assumptation about Finland (also same with Iceland) belonging to Scandinavia is not so uncommon actually and quite often it is finnish people themselves who come and point of Finland is Nordic country but not Scandinavian.
Stormscale has a very large Swedish playerbase

In English usage, Scandinavia also sometimes refers more narrowly to the Scandinavian Peninsula, or more broadly so as to include the Åland Islands, the Faroe Islands, Finland and Iceland.
It’s not really about geography but definition. My impression was that it was a common Finnish thing but if you say it’s not fair enough, regardless it is definitely a thing.
It definately is a thing people think so, that’s why it is important to point of it actually isn’t. More false information is spread more it appears on source like wikipedia.
Even dictionaries mention that "Note: Some people also consider Iceland, the Faeroe Islands, and Finland to be part of Scandinavia. " Just as seen for example in this thread. But considering something doesn’t make it real. This is actually very “harmless” example of false information spreading via internet by people who do not know how it is. So i try to correct when i see it, even it might sound annoying. There is much worse misconceptions going around so i know it’s bit of naggerish.

we literally have nothing in common with slavic countries… Why would we be on the same server?
I don’t know I just thought it would be fun since Scandinavians are generally xenophobic towards Slavs

I’d say most of us finnish people are always reminding others that we actually are not part of skandinavia. We are proud being the oddballs over here middle of countries that speak same language has same time zone etc…we are just different

Scandinavians are probably the most tolerant bunch in the whole world, I haven’t seen more diverse neighbors than swedish uni cities.
And locals accept everyone just fine.
