Scarlet Monastery Celestial needs to be taken a look at

The interaction with the last boss, High Inquisitor Whitemane, and the Celestial affixes needs some kind of hotfixing.

When she casts the deep sleep ability, the Klaxxi guy still casts his abilities. Which just caused my group to whipe three times since he kept spinning and wind bombing us during that exact moment. There’s literally no counterplay to it either, you can’t use immunities, you can’t pvp trinket / human racial etc, you just have to sit there and watch the inevitable whipe happen.

Perhaps it’s time to just remove the affixes on that boss in particular. I know it was done on a few Cata bosses since certain affixes had the potential to make some bosses literally impossible to kill, if bad timing on abilities. This is one of them, I feel.

Can’t you like wait for Klaxxi to cast his abilities and then push Whitmane go into next phase? It is standart raiding rule to stop dps and push into ext phase only after you had dealt with all mechanics that can make transition harder.

I have done a lot of celestial dungeons, including SM i think 10+ times, and never seen it. Probably just unlucky, if happens 3 times - super unlucky.

I had this like 2 times. But we expected shaman to drop both his healing and spirit link totems before the sleep so they would keep group alive while we take a nap.

Any healer can proc the crane effect before the sleep and the group can sit in it for the duration. Can also pre-hot, pre-shield, healing rain etc before it

happens almost every time for me when i get to that dungeon, but haven’t seen even deaths to it yet, even when ambeshaper was channeling his thing on a guy for the whole sleep duration, but it also might be that my dave (ox statue) kinda saves the day, idk

Maybe not, most likely tested with AI. However stopping dps is common raid tactics to avoid mechanics overlap so guess celestial SM teaches us that, just as intended to.

Celestial rng isnt even close to raid mechanics. They apear a) random and b) a random effect. One time the sleep started, the laser dude showed up and killed me. Nothing you can do about it. Also the windbombs are cancer in some bossfight because you cant evade them and you have to choose between dying from dragons breath or the bombs.

I had this happen again on my alt druid. This time I was prepared though. Just in case, I stood in efflo, prehotted everyone with rejuvs and cast a SotF snapshotted wild growth just before the mass sleep. And just a second after everyone was stunned, Klaxxi dude spawned and cast amber scalpel at me. I survived with about 10-15k hp and had to emergency heal after the stun was over.

So yes, doable if executed to perfection. But way too sweaty for a dungeon mechanic that’s designed for freshly dinged alts as a way to catchup.

Also yes, raid mechanics are pretty much always predictable on a timer, this is completely random. Both in appearance and what ability the boss will cast. The only way to counter it is to always prepare for the absolute worst case scenario and precast all your stuff, I guess.

i had not experienced this in a good few runs, However i did do a run the other day and we all got put to sleep on the end boss, as the affix popped with the lazer beam and our healer just got nuked GG.

if you dont have a Combat rez in the group, hope you have a good tank :slight_smile:
