Screen tearing

Hi. Since i started playing shadowlands, i’ve notice i’m getting some slight screen tearing. My monitor is a 144hz. And max fps is capped to 144.
But i still have the issue. Also my fps does not go above 144 (its capped after all)
Its mostly at the top of my screen for some reason.
Any ideas why?

I been experiencing lots of graphical bugs since a day or so ago… Idk things seem broken. Atleast for me…

You need to use some form of sync (vsync/gsync/async) to completely remove tearing (that’s why it exists). Capping your fps at your refresh rate will always have tearing artefacts somewhere.

If you’re dead set against any form of vsync. Turn off all caps and use RTSS to cap fps at almost the same frequency as your monitors interval. With some research and tweaking you can make most tearing invisible. (read about RTSS capping and check Blurbusters website and forums)

Thanks for the reply. Gsync is enabled in the nvidia control panel.
And the vsync part is set to “use 3d application”
So you suggest i set it to “on” rather than the 3d thing?
Vsync is off in the game. But fps is capped at 144

Set it to on (nvpanel) and remove all frame caps. See if tearing is removed. If not then something is screwy with gsync.

Also make sure no other apps are open on your desktop including the battle.net launcher. (set it to close on wow launch)

I tried setting vsync to “on” in the panel. Seems like that did the trick.
Thanks mon
