SE mount drop rate from 2nd boss way too low for so called last phase

i am curious what the toughts and logic was behind having a extreme low drop rate for the covenant of light mount from the 2nd boss in SE raid. it just does not make sense for it to have such a low drop rate. especialy if phase 8 is the so called last phase and if that is the case everyone knows that SoD will die out in the comming weeks/months. also the fact that scarab mounts was guarantee drop due to a hardmode. same with naxx mount and for SE blizz decided to have 1 mount guarantee drop and another having less than 1% dropchance? . its just does not make sense to me

It is excectly why blizzard did it, and also significantly less gear drop of gear compared to naxx. To not allow you to get all you want (mount/full bis gear) in 2 month and leave game. It is done to prolong live of the game on last phase. Because most people leave when they get all their bis gear and mount. What you said, your logic is “game will die, let it die faster”, blizzard’s logic is “game will die, but let it die slower”, and this logic is better because players will play longer and will leave sod and cancel subscription in 3-4-5 months. not in 2.

players will not stick around just to farm a 1% dropchance mount to ride around on a dead game version. people will also not stick around for the raid for months wether they have their full bis or not. cuz thats also not what SoD was this past year and tiers aswell the raid is way overtuned maybe for the reason you said to slow down the dying of SoD but by doing so people will leave faster instead of staying

it won’t be full dead. Yes, much less popular then now - but not dead. Look at classic era - people still playing there. Yes, of course, not so much as in sod or anniversary, but according to ironforge 12k - still good online for game without updates. Most people, even after months of playing, still miss some bis pieces or legendary, and it motivates them continue playing. Blizzard just preparing sod to “sod era” state, if “sod era” was naxxramas i dont think anyone will play this because you get full bis in some weeks. Main goal of this final phase (if it’s final - blizzard said they can change plans) is not 2 months hype and then all leave, but preapring sod to long-term “sod era” state.

Maybe that mount isn’t supposed to be farmed? Maybe it’s supposed to be rare?

There’s the Caldoran mount that’s farmable; assuming you can even kill him.

Well its better that it droos from 2nd boss instead of last boss:sweat_smile::see_no_evil:

It is very common for mounts in WoW to have 1% droprate. However it is with the intention for people to farm older raids in future expansions.

Giving a mount a 1% droprate in the last phase of a season is indeed not very wise IMO

then we are at the fact that if phase 8 is the last phase and soD dies out in a couple of months then it does not make sense to add a 1% dropchance mount :man_shrugging:

It does make sense as it motivate some people play longer. Yes, many people will leave, but for some people getting this mount or other rare item can be motivation to continue playing. Your logic is “sod will die” is wrong. If this phase is really last, then blizzard goal is to prolong its life and motivate people play longer (many people still playing classic era and not get some bis items and it motivates them continue playing). And also, i just remind that it is not 100% confirmed that this phase is last, blizzard never said it directly. But, even if it is last phase, the logic what blizzard doing is motivate some players play longer to get rare drops. Your logic is “sod will die so give me all i need ASAP, so i leave ASAP and sod will die faster”

Just because ou have the attention span of a goat doesn’t mean the game is going to immediately die; SoD is enjoyable.

This is the last phase and sod will die. In one month this place will be a ghost town.

It won’t. Many people still playing classic era without updates. Some people will also play sod even after last phase (yes, much less then now, but i dont think it will be a ghost town). And again, it’s not confirmed 100% that this is last phase

I logged in around 10pm Server Time on Wild Growth and we still had 3 active layers.

The ‘unga bunga SoD ded’ peopleare deranged.

Summer will hit hard. Tbc anniversary very nearby. Mop beta and then actual release very soon. Sod won’t survive that. There is no new content, it’s transitioned to an era server. In a month’s time most people will have close to Bis from new raid or would have quit due to difficulty/lack of loot.

It’s not rocket science…

Interestingly enough… Everybody said the same thing about every other version of WoW.

SoD is actually fun, people are enjoying themselves. You people said anniversary was going to kill SoD, and some of you even said the same about Cata.

And the only thing MoP is going to do is show everybody how bad MoP was at the start of the expansion; it wasn’t actually good until towards the end.

Full BiS…

…Lack of loot?

Having a hard time making your mind up?

Full bis to those lucky to get it or those doing 20 man.

Majority are doing 30+ so yes loot will be more scarce.

What happened to SoM? Please enlighten me as it’s the direct comparison to SOD.

SoM was a carbon copy of Classic with extra mechanics. SoD is new abilities, new itemisation, new mechanics and an entire new zone.

I don’t expect it to stay popular forever but dead in a month when a bunch of people are still struggling with Caldoran? That’s some next level nihilism; you must have no joy in your life what so ever.

I’m just telling you how it is so people don’t linger on a game mode expecting something to come of it and thus waste their time.

Might be nihilistic, but it’s the truth. To think otherwise is just very naive and delusional.
