Since I’ve only seen PVE babies cry about it, just “rework” Seal of Vengance instead to do the equal amount of dmg. The Seal of Blood change will do huge changes for Rets in arena and pvp.
Trying to balance seals is a hell of a lot of work. Allowing each side access to both seals? Perfect balance and no work.
So yeah, I think you might actually be the only player that hates this change.
It for sure is a change, a necessary change, but how could it possible be bad to get one extra tool in pvp?
do u even use sealofblood in pvp? im pretty sure u use that movementspeed thing and the ret talent seal command or smth
and then u play with a rshaman and spampurge and zugzug
It’s not only about the damage (vengeance actually scales well and does alot of damage on single target boss in T6 and onward), it’s the mana regen from the lost health that makes it so powerful in PvE.
one scales from AP the other one from SP, seal of vengeance and seal of blood / martyr should have been in tbc for both factions for their differences of use.
If your a prot paladin, you’ll use vengeance, if your a ret you’ll use blood/martyr, if your holy it will depend on the farming gear you have, but most likely you’ll use vengeance.
The real strength of Seal of blood / martyr however is in its raid comp usage. If you are a retribution paladin, and you hit for 2k white hits, Blood / martyr should hit for 700 damage, and you would take 70 damage. When that 70 damage is healed by someone other then you, you will gain 7 mana from it.
Another thing to note for Retribution is that seal of command has 7 ppm, (procks per minute) wich means that on average you get one proc every 8.5 seconds. Weapons are faster then the 4.25 seconds that you need for 2x blood/martyr to be equal with command, and thats even before haste. In other words, if you do not have blood/martyr you don’t really benefit from haste as a ret.
Vengeance with haste also doesn’t work since it scales from sp, and not ap, and haste is devided into spellhaste or melee/ranged haste.
Also the “it doesn’t really matter cause its less then 1% of your raid dps” is an invalid argument. You don’t just raid. its on average 7-10% better then seal of command for a ret, thats 7-10% faster consumable farming, wich saves a lot of time for the paladin in question.
While its not TBC accurate, it is an improvement. So no, i absolutely love this change.
