Seal of the crusader judgement bugged

“increases holy damage taken”
But when an enemy takes retribution-aura damage, which is holy damage too (tooltip), the damage is NOT increased!
Edit: Oh god, same bug happens with Blessing of Sanctuary (still deals same holy damage even if enemy getting hit has crusader-judgement on him)! Shiiiiit, this is bad!

Judgement of the crusader basically adds more spellpower to your holydmg abilities/skils if used on that target. Still, different abilities scale differently with spellpower. I never observed that the retribution aura scales with spellpower. You can test it yourself, remove your gear and see how much dmg it does, then equip spellpower gear and check if the aura does more dmg now…
BoS might also have a spelldmg coefficient close to 0 ^^ i don’t know the numbers exactly.

Neither of the abilities are listed at https://wowwiki-archive.fandom.com/wiki/Spell_power_coefficient?oldid=1492745 so it may very well be the case that they don’t have SP scaling in TBC.

Well, then they should fix the tooltip to like “ONLY works with seal of righteousness and no other abilities” or sth hm. It’s just super misleading this way.

The paladin class seems like a very simple/boring class but in reality there are a lot of hidden things going on. Especially in classic wow, there is stuff that no normal player would not have found out. For example: SoR doubled proc chances of weapon effects, SoR rank 3 had a higher spelldmg coefficent than all other ranks (so if you had more than 200spellpower rank 3 does more dmg than max rank). Nothing of this was explained in game.

I recommend all classes that use spellpower to check data on spellpower coefficient for all their abilities. The ingame tooltips are indeed very basic.

Reminds me of consecration applying a hidden debuff, paladin code is so messy

Hm, nice.
The major thing that caught my eye so far at level 30 of paladining is that you either use Blessing of Wisdom or you’re constantly out of mana… so it became the only “usable” Blessing for me so far, no point using Might or Kings as they will just slow you down greatly.

What debuff is applied by consecration?

There are two different ways of grinding mobs:

  1. one by one but without any downtime. Blessing of wisdom is great for this.
  2. Aoe grinding. You pull as many mobs as possible (because the more mobs you pull, the higher your dps will be). Use cooldowns and all your mana, maybe even consumables to really get to the limit. Find out how many mobs you can take on your own. You will have downtime between the pulls anyway so blessing of wisdom is not the best option for this, Blessing of sanctuary is really good for aoe grinding.

The consecration damage works like a dot if you stand in it but it will not show it as a debuff. In classic the maximum amount of debuffs someone can have was 16 debuffs. So if a target had 16 debuffs on it and walked into a consecration, one of the 16 previous debuffs got pushed off because of the invisible debuff from consecration damage.
