Season 2 dungeon selection

That’s the least bug I’m concerned about:

Here a short list:

  1. the bug you’ve mentioned
  2. the ship not even rendering for some people
  3. getting stuck inside the ship and being unable to get out again
  4. heavy ship desyncs (see video posted below at given timestamp)
  5. visual glitch inside the curch making you unable to see anything
  6. visual glitch inside curch with swirleys spawning under carpets
  7. visual glitch with small inclines/declines in terrain making the frontals incredibly hard to see
  8. players randomly dying during the first boss even though they collected an orb AND are outside of the big aoe of the boss during flight (predominantly happened to paladins in my runs)
  9. Rshamans getting completely MonkS’ed on the ship because, while healing rain works, acid rain does not work because the acid rain effect stays stationary while the ship moves
  10. Rshamans again getting completely MonkaS’ed because spirit link totem just… flies off on the airship for the same reason as acid rain does

There’s more… and as I’ve said, it’s faster to assemble a list of what works properle in DB.

This isn’t related to DB. Every dungeon has issues with this. As soon as there is a terrain difference; it just becomes a hit or miss estimation.

SV: that arrow of those charging mobs sometimes only shows the square.
GB: that big rectangle sometimes only shows half of it
GB: when on the bridge, you may as well keep dancing; never know where the visuals are

So far in 9/10 times they were just too close in my groups. But sure, it’s a bit of an odd one.

The rest, didn’t happen a single time so far.

But they werent, i can guarantee you that most of them (not all, but well, people…) were a decent distance away yet still died, because the damn circle is like 5 feet larger than it looks, which in itself is horrible and should be fixed asap. We should not have to be further away from a visual than the visual indicates.

Same

But just for the record, I found GRD to be one of my favorite keys that season, but it was hilarious watching others pug it… people had gotten so used to the timewalking roflstomp, and were still incapable of just using the goshdarn grenades and shot on the second boss. And ofc some [censored] ALWAYS, without fail, had to pull the entire boxcar before him no matter how hard you tried as a tank to avoid it (bro literally ran ahead and pulled the first 2 packs out of the car into the one before it and tanked them there… 5 seconds later, the hulk and the group behind him come moseying on down to party… :man_facepalming: )

And of course because one pointless wipe isn´t enough, some [censored] ofc ran ahead the second time and did the exact same thing.

But with a group of people that actually knew what they were doing, easily the most chill key of the season. :beers:

As a resto shaman and now also mistweaver, i can tell you; moving things in the air do not work with things like healing rain or jadefire stomp where you are supposed to stand in. In the DB run on my monk my stomp did not even got placed…

True, the issue is way more noticable in DB though, at least in my experience.

I agree that it’s 9/10 times the fault of the player but I had that happen to people I was in Discord on and they also showed their nvidia video proof thingy afterwards in a disc stream. Didn’t seem like they were doing anything wrong.

I had all of them happen (not strictly to me but to either me or friends I was in Discord on in the dungeon) except for whatever happened in that video I’ve posted.

The velocity of the ship clearly causes a lot of issues with physics in the game. Take the Voidrift of priests for example. You can literally see the Rift struggling to keep up with the “moving” mobs every single time.
I’d guess the Rift wouldn’t even be hitting the mobs if the movement speed of the Rift was slower than it is. This is literally observable every single time you cast the Rift on the moving airship. It’s not an outlier or edge case.

It seems to be the case that some object/abilities in the game do not interact with the relative speed of the airship for some reason.

No one said the dungeon will return in it’s current state.

Remember what they did to NW? The count requirement basically changed to 90% of the dungeon.

Aw yeah ToP was so cool

Yeah but lets do a recap … cause in Cata you used to pay the same exact amount.

So first I will say that the cost of wow has not increased. Each expansion lasts for ~ 2 years. So using your math thats 300E per expansion (150x2).

So 300E in 2004 is worth 500E today in 2024. So basically, you used to pay MORE for wow than you do today. And what did you get per expansion ? Lets do a recap…

Before:

  • 12 dungeons
  • 3 to 4 raids

Now:

  • 8 new dungeons, 16 “revamped dungeons” and 2 wings of 1 megadungeon. Total: 26 dungeons.
  • 3 raids.
  • Mid season events (wow aniversary, plunderstorm, new zones, remix, timewalking… ect…)
  • WEEKLY tuning. Class, raid and dungeon. Something that did not used to happen in the past. Tuning used to be done per patch.
  • We could throw in Delves and PvP in there too.

All that for ~ 50% of the price you used to pay in 2004.

Seems to me like a clear WIN if you ask me.

And WHY do you do Black Temple ? You dont have to. It is, and will always be a waste of time.

The ONLY reason to do Timewalking stuff is to level alts, or farm cosmetics. If you are not into any of those 2 things there is literally no reason to do it.

Exactly. We did.

We asked that playing the same 8 dungeons over and over again for 2 years in a row with ZERO changes and ZERO class tuning was boring.

And we got exactly what we asked for: Every season different dungeons. And the fact that they are old or not dosent matter. It only benefits the devs because they already got the dungeon made, they just need to put mobs in it. And that accelerates development and they can do shorter seasons. Which is 100% a WIN in my book.

NOBODY goes to old dungeons to see the landscape. Were all there to smash buttons and kill stuff. And NOBODY remebers any of that from 4/5 years dungeons. So they might look the same, but you dont remeber anymore playing them. They might as well be new dungeons for all we care.
