That only tells us that faction changing after January 18/19 will make one ineligible for the title. That is a very strong indication that the patch is not coming that week.

OP asked when season 2 ends. I didnt say anything about 9.2 drop that day.
Season ends with 9.2, as confirmed by the very source you quoted.
Yet they warn that u must not transfer or faction change on or after jan 18, or no reward for the m+ top 0.1% title. So technically one say that s2 could end that day.
No. The season very much continues after as normal.
