They have been releasing mega dungeons for second season for last two expansions but haven’t mentioned for this one yet. Will there be a mega dungeon in next season or for this expansion at all ?
They were fun in their own way. Like a 5 man raid with many bosses and being harder than other dungeons.
We’re getting a completely new dungeon in season 2, but it’s a regular sized one, not a mega dungeon.
The good thing is, this new dungeon will immediately be part of the season 2 M+ dungeon rotation. No more waiting a whole season for the new dungeon to be available in M+!
I wouldn’t be surprised if we get another completely new dungeon (regular sized) in season 3.
Last 4 expansions and first introduced in the Legion expac. I actually thought we were getting a mega dungeon in 11.2 but I found this snipped that suggests otherwise.
" Notably, Blizzard has opted for smaller, individual dungeons rather than the mega-dungeons seen in past expansions"
Operation: Floodgate - The New Addition
Operation Floodgate is a brand new dungeon being introduced in WoW Patch 11.1 as part of War Within Season 2, set in the depths of the Undermine. It is speculated to have thematic ties to water or aquatic environments, with some players drawing comparisons to the Arcway from Legion. However, details are still scarce, and it’s unclear how the dungeon will be structured for Mythic+. The dungeon presents players with an urgent mission to prevent a group of goblins from destroying a critical dam, which would devastate the area known as the Ringing Deeps. Available immediately upon release for Heroic, Mythic, and Mythic+ difficulties, WoW Operation Floodgate joins the Season 2 dungeon rotation alongside four other launch dungeons and three returning legacy dungeons. The dungeon integrates seamlessly into the broader content update, which includes new delve variations, seasonal updates featuring Brann Bronzebeard, and the introduction of a new adversary following Zekvir, complemented by a collection of goblin-themed curios for players to discover.
Bit dramatic isnt it? Mega Dungeons have given us some of the best (at the very least not worst) m+ Dungeons to date.
They were generally received as very good in just their m0 form as well.
Fair if you dont like them but no need to act like they were the worst thing ever
