Just a note that this is incomplete/unconfirmed as of yet.

We have no word as of yet from blizzard, apart from the confirmation for crafting crests (their ilvls).

The part we do not know yet is if 18-20+ keys from the great vault will be in the myth upgrade track, making them upgradable to 489.

Just pointing it out, to clear out confusion and to limit assumptions.

seems like 20’s drops 483 2/4 vault according to wowhead

Exactly, it is datamining.

Unless we have confirmation from blizzard of what they are gonna do, it is all speculation.

Mythic raiding gear being on the same level as LFR in a span of a patch just feels so wrong to me.

I thought they would do the complete opposite and make it so it’s on the same level as heroic gear as many people wanted.

That would have been horrible.

If that happened then all mythic guilds would still NEED to do normal/hc for the tier sets/trinkets, but still have a horrible progression at the start of mythic.

The more gear we have to farm at the start of the season, the better it is for mythic raiders.

I really hope These Item lvl Changes wont make it into the next season or i wont have anything to do ich endgame wise.

This means that players that:

  • Mythic Aberrus geared players, or players in 447 gear will have gear that drops at LFR Amirdrassil difficulty (rather than Normal Amirdrassil)

  • The difficulty and gearing progression should feel more like the start of the expansion (Pre-Season M0 to Season 1) rather Season 1 to Season 2.

There’s going to be a lot of gear to grind!

this is article from wowhead

Can you please explain it to me, I don’t think I get it.

Do you mean it’s better if previous tier mythic is less worth or more? Why is it better to have to farm more gear? Sorry I’m just a bit confused, I thought it would be great to have gear’s value carry over to the next tier.

Yeah, let me explain (and thank you for asking so nicely).

The start of the season that we get gear is the best time, because precisely we get more powerful and we feel that power in the content that we do.

Last season that gearing was over after 2-3 weeks, the progression was very uneven, meaning that we got WAY TOO MUCH power at the start, and then hit a wall (as an example imagine killing the first 3-4 bosses TOO easily, and then just stopping on the 5th cause of gear).

I believe that now having to farm MORE gear is gonna be better, cause it will offer more STABLE progression. At the end of the day we want to play the game, and the start of the season is the best time to play.

Seems ok to me. Not sure about the +18 vault again but I need to experience the tuning.

If it’s hard like season 1 the expansion will end as it started. In a trash can

On the Patch 10.2 PTR, the item level increase going from Season 2 to Season 3 is much larger than normal: +39 item levels between tiers rather than the standard +26.

Item Level Increase in Season 3

On the Patch 10.2 PTR, the item level increase of +39 item levels has been spotted on both the Raid and Mythic+ item levels. Blizzard has informed Wowhead of the correct Crafted Item Level which all indicates that the transition to Season 3 will be a larger +39 item levels, rather than the standard +26.

It also seems the 18+ thing is correct for Mythic track.

Well you say as many wanted.

Yer season 2 met instant complaints there wasnt enough ilevel increase to grind, and bled out of content quickly.

Its likely tbeir just testing a oppozing idea to see if this holds up the season for any longer. The fact players skipped half the progression instantly ment the season basically ended early.

This is ridiculous. It will result in roughly a doubling of our stats in a single season, leading to a 4-fold increase in power. (You will do twice the damage on enemies half your health)

The progression curve is stupidly steep and they just made it worse.

For context, people had about double stats in Black Temple compared to Molten Core. Getting gear the previous season just means absolutely bugger all now.

they probably realised a stat squish with 11.0 will be necessary anyway and wanted to let us see million dps numbers lol. i think one of the few positive things about s2 was not having too much ilvl difference but i guess that’s not okay for some reason
edit: ok this was explained and i get it now, i don’t think it will change a lot tho it will be 3 weeks instead of 2 but yeah , more time.

It’s pretty obvious they don’t want players like my main who is 446 , stomping 16’s and above day 1 of patch

S2 was really easy to gear up imo.
They’re afraid , the playerbase will stomp all the end content to the ground in 2 weeks , get curve , get ksm and quit.

After close examination I’ve reached the following important conclusions:

  1. It’s a chart
  2. Gear go up
  3. People will complain
