A gamers short story.
In the wake of Blizzard’s “Season of Discovery,” anticipation filled the air as shorter days and colder weather set the stage for the long-awaited “Classic Plus.” Thursday night arrived, and my excitement surged. However, logging in revealed a daunting 3000-person queue. Faced with work the next day, I reluctantly left the line and headed to bed.
The next day, eager to join my guild mates, I logged in only to confront a disheartening reality. The server’s population surge had reached a point where creating a character with my friends seemed impossible.
Discord echoed with chaos as the guild grappled with the dilemma. Tensions ran high, with some advocating for server transfers, others insisting on staying, and a few contemplating quitting altogether. The once-thriving guild was now at a crossroads, torn between choices in the turbulent wake of the Season of DESOLATION!!!
Sadly I’ve still not been able to play along with many others of my guild. This isn’t the case of a few friends moving, it’s the guild! I know it’ll all die down and I wait with anticipation to see the realms unlocked and to play with my friends in a week or two, or do I take the title literally, set off on the adventure alone? For all tis the season for discovery!
