Probably true from the convenience point of view, but I would much rather preserve the little faction fantasy that we have and that we’ve had since Vanilla. Letting convenience win here and there is ok (especially when it would literally break a class into two), but let’s not overdo it.
If only we had a different version of Classic where they heavily lean into faction fantasy and restrict even more classes and even create new faction-based classes… But that’s not very realistic to expect.
It’s noble to keep the faction fantasy.
All that i say is for the health of Alliance. Horde Shamans gonna do a massacre…
They are, I hate shamans (especially Orcs). Horde have a pretty big advantage in PvP, but we are generally better off in PVE and thus gearing. I don’t think homogenizing stuff is the way to go. We had that in retail and look at where it got us… To playing a 20 year old version of the game.
i understand you want to keep the “spirit” of original Vanilla, i was there too.
but tools (add-ons, macros, etc) are not the same.
assimilate Alliance shaman and Horde paladin to being a “retail thing” is a mistake…
Horde shamans gonna make a massacre, they are not the same mouseclickers than back in the days of original Vanilla
Just because some things are different it doesn’t mean we should completely open the flood gates for everything. This is supposed to be Classic+, not Retail-
It’s all highly subjective, of course, so it’s my point of view vs yours.
4 classes. This is going to tank hard until p2.
Both ele and enhance are at the bottom of all dps specs, yet the only change they get is their ability to improve the other class’ potential dps.
Really nice.
my first wish for "Classic+ " was to add shaman and paladins for both factions (and/because it existed in the Universe of Vanilla) with or without these new runes
All these runes are from “retails” versions, so we are more in “Retail” with the runes, than with shamans and paladins for both factions
I really hope that they don’t give paladins to Horde and shamans to alliance in order to keep the faction fantasy alive and make it special.
Both factions have their strengths and weaknesses which promotes more into the RPG and classic feeling which is so much missed in retail these days.
Paladin is alredy dead m8. Since blizz only listen crybabies who have no idea about paladin pvp/pve at all
I feel like giving both factions both classes would be way more of a retail thing than giving a few existing classes some extra abilities. Plus, I don’t see how Horde could ever get Paladins that would make even 1% of sense lore-wise. Even with Blood Elves it was such a stretch.
Undead simply don’t fit in, Paladins are supposed to be the defenders of the Light, those who fight the undeath - it says so in their description. They don’t even have any shadow abilities so that you could bundle them up like they did Priests.
Trolls also. Their retail explanation is basically “Yeah, but they have a Loa that [insert needed argument]”.
Giving Light-based abilities to Horde is already a huge stretch and detraction from the lore, I would hate to see more of that.
That’s nice for Arcane, but Fire is also doing really bad DPS wise.
All that you are saying is true in a Deep lore point of view.
But for the human gamers behind their computer, alliancers, it was a nightmare in Classic Era, by result, many alliancers migrated to PvE servers (and it was not because horde players are “better” at the game)
Horde shamans gonna do a massacre and poor alliance paladins gonna “bubble /dance” as a Western movie:
Shaman with the gun: " /dance paladin ! "
Paladin:
Balance is needed
Balance can be achieved via other means. Besides, balance isn’t the primary purpose of Classic. Look at what happened to the version of the game that decided to completely disregard the lore and implement whatever was needed for gameplay convenience:
We got a version in which the supposed “Horde” is full of cutie pie waifus dancing around and shouting “MMMM, uuhhh, for the Horde, daddy! Don’t you wish your girlfriend was hot like me?!”
Lore matters, faction identity matters. We should have more of it, not less.
and yet in warsong, or AB, alliance have a clear edge. Horde didn’t dominate because shamans were better. They dominated because more people played horde.
This is a huge mistake from the WoW community, repeating this like parrots…
Retails is on another client, they can’t apply new races / new classes in the Vanilla client, shamans and paladins exist already in old client, it’s not from retail…
even if shamans weren’t better, most people knew that paladin were useless and boring to level it.
So if we have shamans and paladins in both factions, maybe nobody gonna migrate or do one sided servers… people claim to be PvPers on one sided servers…
Wise words.
But it’s true. Classic has a lot of flavor and a lot less balance. I think that’s what gives it its appeal. Like I said, we have a version of the game where lore no longer exists and everything is implemented for the sake of convenience and look where it got us - to playing a 20 year old version.
the result of less balance made the “1 sided servers” and alliance migration on PvE servers. I don’t understant where is the appeal… Horde kicked alliance from PvP servers, and after that, they cryed to Blizz for getting Horde vs Horde battlegrounds
