Sooo u gona get r14 set and black aq mount ,cool epic gear , just for moment when it all will be useless in tbc after u get t4 kek?Its rly 0 logic and point to play SoM
I terms of SoM, I am only interested in the experience i missed out in 2005.
RPG games are about loot and char development in first plays. Its only 1 and true experience u can get
Are u rly going to play whole SoM until naxx in pre-bis gear only?
I think that is the idea, anyways. The Era servers are basically a museum, where you can go back and view your character and see what you accomplished on it. And every new season of Classic you have another shot at doing whatever you wanna do… be it R14, Scarab Lord, full BiS, ZG mounts, etc. I don’t know, I don’t mind it. I think it’s kind of an alright concept.
The experience is subjective, it is what you make of it.
Of course I will get some gear and see how far it gets me.
But lets start with getting to 60, at least I can experience the events then
@Snowclam:
That’s right, my characters don’t belong in a museum
The sooner you seek help the better. It’s about persevering your time spent on your characters so they basically aren’t deleted. Nothing to do with tbc. If I spend 50-100 days play time on a character I’d like the option to transfer off classic era realms to the newest classic version. People want clarity if paid transfers off classic era to tbc will be possible just like with the first version of classic.
The goal isn’t to have everyone fully geared for the next raid.
We weren’t back then and some players with less skill/knowledge still managed to clean the raids. Don’t worry.
By this logic there is 0 point to ever playing WoW or doing pretty much anything because you’re just gonna die eventually kek
Maybe at an another season, this probably won’t be the last of them.
not a fan of DM & 0.5 being at launch, too many things to do, people will get burned out.
May be , you need to focus on the pre bis stuff to run mc smoothly
im curious about just one thing :), will you be nerfing DM farms, lasher and herb farm for anyone with AoE. If not then will high lvl herbs be dropping Black Lotus in dungeons and raids (later on ZG), thanks.
Very much agree. At the end of SoM, a free transfer to a Classic Era realm is perfect.
If players want Classic TBC, then it is here right now. Further, Classic Era could definitely do with the extra players (unlike Classic TBC).
This is good. This is exactly what I wished for. Classic era server is a home, and every 1-2 years we go and explore something new and we come back home again. We meet new friends every year. I leveled 7 ally characters last time. This time I’m planning to level horde characters. Blizzard nailed it. So thank you
Does the current Blizzard even know how the honor system works?
65.000 honor requiring 12 weeks? what? lol? I had to farm 1.2/1.5 mil to stay in BR1 lol.
Is 65.000 honor 13.000 RP? :’)
I got no clue what I am reading.
Edit: I think they made a typo, with honor they meant RP. So they probably meant 60.000 RP is needed to reach rank 14.
Then Future of classic branch is unknown. I am too scared to go back to retail and I was right to be scared.
Thank you very much for this clarification.
I find this direction quite disturbing although I kind of forsaw this to happen.
Classic Era are basically “dead remnants”, a mere museum, since the decision was made by Blizzard to push the crowd towards tBC (by charging fee for the clones, by sending the Classic Vanilla guilds into BC heavy-handedly and disbanding them on Era).
So maybe here the intent is to have the End of SoM “feeding” and reviving the Era servers, which is a decent try I guess. (Would it work? we don’t know.)
However, do you confirm the gameplay on Classic Era would stay #NoChange? then different from the experience in SoM. From meeting stones and no worlb buffs to no-meeting stones and world buffs. From challenging bosses without debuff limite to the reverse.
If so, Players who may have enjoyed SoM rules with #SomeChanges then they would have the choice between Era’s NoChange “discouraging” situation, and … oblivion, right?
(And on the other side, although perhaps marginal, players who are still playing NoChange, who are proud of their achievements on NoChange Classic Era may be upset of seeing all those SomeChanges easier/harder/different characters from SoM mixed up with them. I guess they may still prefer have this rather than nobody and dead servers but I’m talking about principle.)
As for me, I’m not that much interested in playing WoW classic again in these conditions - maybe, maybe not - because I feel my Classic Era characters are rotting useless and separated from the SoM (hypothetical) hype. I enjoyed the start of Classic, but I wasn’t there for AQ and Naxx and that is something I would like have the opportunity to do on late SoM.
So, it seemed more logical to me to be able to transfer characters from Era to SoM in a later state (maybe phase 5-6*), while keeping SoM servers live separate from Era. The reverse of your proposition.
And I must confess I hoped this would lead to a separate Enhanced Classic™ stem, where SomeChange version of Classic SoM would evolve into “ClassicPlus” which some (many) people like me are craving for.
In a nutshell, this annoucement is somehow decent but underwhelming.
- sorry I posted with the wrong character but here it is (I’m a real lvl 60 classic enjoyer)
That wasnt the reason. The reason was the unarmored mounts were unfinished versions (placeholders), much like the T2 helm I had in Vanilla.
Not like people getting them back in the they expected them to be replaced as a part of some content or progression.
Little to late to catch lightning in a bottle.
Looking really good, good job Blizzard. However, let us transfer to the TBC/WOTLK (the game version that will be up by then) if we want so we can keep up the progression if we wish when the season ends.
