Seeds of hatred

Hello Everyone.

This is my second post today, but I have been away for a while.

I would like to ask to the story forum community, if you consider the lore as a instrument for making everyone hate each other.

Even though I haven’t been playing, I have been reading the EU and sometimes the US forums.
What it comes out is basically everyone agrees on hating BfA now and everyone agrees (or not), to hate each other.

Would you consider this normal as a Manchester United fan arguing with a Manchester City fan or it’s something made deliberately ?

Thanks for your attention.
Cheers.

Blizzard already said they are doing it on purpose, so, yes, absolutely.

Factions wars do have a tendency to making people argue against each other and through arguing people get heated till it is just a mug flinging contest. Having both sides of the fandom fight each other for control will lead to there being bitterness and resentment over what’ll happen and want things what’ll benefit them and what they like despite the implications of what it will do to the story.

But I do find a lot of this just comes down to bad writing, when you see something you like fall victim to like then (for me at least) annoys the hell out of me, and I will be fired up when I see people talking about how good of a change it was. Or people who see X get ruined so they want Y to get ruined as well to join in the suffering, eye for an eye mentality.

It is funny and sad to see people defend bad writing just for personal satisfaction such as defending the WoT and calling it one of the best writings in recent time (before Sylvanas burnt down the tree) despite it from the very start bleeding lore/continuity errors, character changes and assassinations, different versions depending on what sources you use, motivational reasons for why a war was needed and so much more.
