Seeking advice on reactivate an old account and character transfer

Hello,

I just want to play the new expansion but my wow accounts are in a kinda chaotic state, thats why I seek advice…

My goal is to get all my highest characters on to one account with all the gold and stuff, and delete the other.
So I have the following problem and honestly for me its a bit complicated what to do now…

I have two Accounts as the following:

  • World of Warcraft®: Legion (MICHEY)

  • World of Warcraft®: Battle for Azeroth® (WoW1)

The World of Warcraft®: Legion (MICHEY) Account was banned back then, thats why I created the new one (WoW1), unfortunately (in some ways), the old acc got unbanned now and Im kind of stuck what I should do now, because on both accounts I have characters, but on both no active subscription.

The easiest thing would be imo, that on the new account (WoW1) I transfer the two 120 level characters back to my old Account (MICHEY).

But If I do so… I have these questions:

  1. do I need an active subscription on the WoW1 account to get the character transfer to work? Because I read its counterproductive if the character has still mails, etc. But the problem is I cannot check, till I subscribe for that account…
  2. Second question is if I transfer the 2 120 level characters back to the (MICHEY) Account, do I have to buy BFA and Shadowlands for that account? Cause right now its a legion account?

Thank you very much

  1. You can ask a GM to remove mail for you so you don’t have to sub, They might even give you an hour or so gametime to let you do it yourself, Seen that done in the past. If they don’t have mail, you don’t need to sub to transfer at all.

  2. Yes, you will need to buy BFA on the old account, You will also lose mounts and pets that are bound to the other account on the characters. They don’t transfer over.

Just a word of advise, I’m 99% sure BFA will be added to the base game like Legion etc very soon, If you can wait a little bit, I would.

Thanks Baltic, you helped me alot
How do I call a GM to help me with the mails on these two characters?

Click support at the top of this page and follow the instructions from there. You will see what to do when there without much explanation, You can’t really call them but if you go to support at certain times you might get to do a live chat with them, On rare occasions depending on the issue it might ask if you want them to call you.

If live chat is closed you will probably have to make a ticket and just wait on a reply. Make sure you give as much details as possible to save yourself time, Like realm, character names, account name etc.

To be honest, I am not sure a GM will be able to help you, as Character Transfer is a service Blizzard want paying for. As such it is only in very exceptional circumstances, that a GM can transfer characters around manually.

But it never hurts to ask.

NoNo I dont want to call a GM to transfer these characters for free, I just want to contact a GM to clear the Mail on these characters so I dont have to subscribe to this account. Thats the first part, the second part is that then I can transfer these characters to the other account without a problem, with the paid service.

This only applies if transfering between two different Battlenet accounts. If both WoW accounts are under same the Battlenet account then the mounts etc. stay as they are bound to the Battlenet account.

See https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/34787

I would suggest trying to transfer the characters and then if you get the ‘got mail’ or some other problem , you can make a ticket. A GM will normally give you a day or so of time to sort them out.

Everything will be shared so long as the two accounts are on the same battle.net.

I would actually suggest transferring the characters to the newer account that hasn’t been banned. If you were to get another ban on the original account, it would be much harsher than if it were on the newer account (assuming there haven’t been any bans on it).

Thank you that sounds like a plan, but no I will transfer them back to the old account, cause I know why it got banned, and it is no longer banned for like two years now. (The ban was my own fault on the old acc)
Second reason is there are more characters on it than on the new account.

That’s fair enough but, if you were to get banned again on the old account, the ban will be a lot longer. Just warning you so you don’t get caught out

Yeah thank you I understand what u mean, but im 100 % sure that it wont be banned again. I was dumb back then, let me say it that way

True, For some reason I had it in my head that it wasn’t on the same bnet account.

I’m someone who uses 3 accounts on the same bnet, So was pretty dumb of me. I was on prescribed valium at the time though, Could explain why.
