Hello, could you please tell me if the PVP zone Ashenvale and similar zones will be available on PVE servers? Or will there be no open world event’s PVP at all on PVE servers?
Unfortunately, I couldn’t find an official answer, so I’m asking the question here. I really hope to get a response before the server launch. Thank you.
On PvP servers, all zones are PvP and anybody can attack u, but what about on PvE servers? The event is triggered, as mentioned before (If I’m not mistaken), based on the number of PvP kills by Horde or Alliance.
So, how event will be activated on a PvE server, if Ashenvale will not be a PvP zone?
How did it work in TBC? Was PVP mode activated when entering the zone?
By killing players, attacking camps etc…
What do you expect? That all PvE players will never enable their PvP on PvE servers?
If you don’t want to join the triggered PvP events, stay out of the area.
Nobody forcing you to join PvP activity, but if you want the best loot and mount you need to. (according to Holly Longdale)
In general yes, if you can turn it off once you joined the event in Ashenvale is currently unknown.
But you don’t have to join or enter the area of mission objectives.
My guess is you get a warning if you walk into the camps and other fight areas that weaken the PvP end boss. The idea is to have an optional AV like mode in Ashenvale, just camps instead towers.
Stay away from PvP activity and you can continue PvE in Ashenvale.
So, I can play on a PvE server, and whenever I feel like PvP, I just activate War Mode and participate in events, attacking players with War Mode enabled in the open world, right?
Yes, and since first phase is only Level 25 it doesn’t even matter if we play on PvP or PvE servers, most active players hang around in Ashenvale “endgame” anyway.
Blizzard said they want to add more PvP events during the season, in other words there will always be players doing PvP even on PvE servers.
Imo a way better concept than instanced BGs. (Warhammer, Cyrodiil, Guild Wars like)
Not necessarily zerg but activities that motivate players to join PvP in Open world.
The only difference between PvP and PvE servers, you have safe zones while leveling
but depending on level range of current running PvP events we will always have PvP in Open world.
Yes you can enable PvP at any time on a PVE server. If you enable PvP you are red to the enemy faction and everyone can attack you just like on a PVP server, however you cannot attack others first unless they are also flagged for PvP. If someone attacks you he will also be flagged for PvP so you can fight back. If guards attack you, you also get auto flagged for PvP.
So in Ashenvale on PVE servers I’m pretty sure enough people will be flagged for PVP unless everyone just ignores the event hubs.
If it works like pvp objectives in TBC, you need to have pvp enabled to recieve participation of the objectives.
If you sit there with pvp disabled it was like you werent even there.
TBC Events were based on a time or location but to partecipate you would need to explicitly flag yourself for pvp. there was no automatic activation.
Woltk on the other hand would flag you automatically for pvp when you entered Wintergrasp zone even if it was out of the event time.
Yes, you just type /PVP and you are enabled. After 5 min of not attacking and PVP targets, be it players or PVP NPCs your PVP flag goes off.
If you run too close to an enemy city or important questhub, you will get attacked by guards that will enable your PVP. Go into another capital city your are always PVP, even if you manage to not get hit or hit anything for 5 min. Also hunters and warlocks be ware. If in a contested questhub keep your pet on passive. People have been know to stand on rooftop in f.eks Gadgetzan and hit your pet, the pet attacks and the guards kill you for attacking the other player that is out of their reach.
