Seems Hydrax is still low

My proposal to Keep Hydrax didnt work… Its all on me… but it should have gotten love it deserved… I should have put much more effort if I wasnt busy with other stuff in mind.

You can bash me you like for that… I was the one who asked.

People are scared of the RP tag.

Can’t you just RP in retail, you get more cosmetics, zones and stuff? Why wasting resources for something that will actually be enjoyed more and in terms of content - quite bad for that purpose, no?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not hating, just curious.

I am staying away from retail for heck a lot of reasons. its mostly butchered lore specailly on horde side being ally satellite state

The lore and timeline on retail sucks. Especially post-BfA. Not somewhere I find much interest RPing.

As for the OP, I couldn’t go back to Hydrax, I wish I could. I wish guilds and communities would go back there. It was fun while it lasted but the free transfers off realm ruined it.

I’d go back if they brought random dungeon finder in so I could still do content but I don’t see them doing it.

Why wasting recources? The cost for a server is definataly marginable as with how many low servers are in Era. And actually RP is actually quite fitting in Classic with how many of those small things are there. Like class quests, needing a teacher to teach or hunter pets needing food. So Roleplaying is actually supported from Gameplay additionally in Classic there you can expect from at least 90% of the people that we fight right now the scourge and so you can play stories there. In Retail for this time you would actually need to manually set up an event and so there is zero chance for open RP.

Do not worry. You are not at fault, Blizzard is. We Celebras RPler from DACHL did even more effort in proposal for keeping RP Servers alive but Blizzard still did not understood we want language realms for a reason and so thought HWL would be enough which in the end.

Thank you. You take the words out of my moth. From my opinion the missing RDF is one of the reasons why everyone is demanding Megaservers.
I am still in a limbo and not the good kind. The only realm where all my character names are free is now a loud mass server with RP only on Alliance, the one where nearly all the RPler from DACHL are has only 50% of my names free and the realm where still has low pop and so actually should have my favoured clima is the low HWL which is not my native language.

They don´t do Cross realm random dungeon finder (a RDF alone wouldn´t help on a more empty realm), but create mega realms instead (which is not different to the cross realm stuff in retail, just better hidden).

And killed the RP realms for it…

I am not a RDF fan, and liked that decision, but given the choice between our RP realms and a RDF, i´d choose the RDF… :unamused:

I dont blame you

I’m not a fan of RDF either (or any cross-server functions), but I think server-linking would’ve been preferable over the transfer-mania we’ve seen and continue to see. It was never a good long-term solution.

Sometimes transfers are the last solution to save anything.

The problem is, that they started with transfers before they added the possibility to select only one faction (would have prevented some issues right in the beginning).

If they had the chance to intervene earlier, maybe they would have done it.
That everyone now only considers mega realms as “alive”, was probably not intented

I prefer single realms (still) over connected ones, and i am fine that some people come now together on the mega ones/full realms.

I am more concerned that everyone, who does NOT want, need, or benefit from realms below “high” has no option anymore.

And that´s a gap our RP realms could have filled. If they were not slaughtered…

YOu were the one who asked? Nope I did, I made a character on a US server, suffered through 10 terrible levels of Retail Island and screamed and yelled in the US forums. Thank you very much!
And I stll love HW and I still play there,

So please, pretty please let HW live its quiet low-pop existence in peace!

I like the way HW is right now. Ofc there could be little bit more people but not much. AH is working, I can sell most of the stuff I put there, the world is not too crowded.
I tried to play in Pyrewood some of my 60+ hordes there and it feels impossible. Just too many people doing same quests (most of them the opposing faction) and after 10 minutes I gave up and said to my self “never again”

I´ve heard “i like HW right now” several times now.

Though i´d still prefer my Celebras back

At least the devs won´t touch it.
They decided to leave us one, and i am pretty sure they will do it.

To deal with the human trolls is our job, though.

Oh and you are back on HW? Did i understand this right?

I play there - and only there - whenever I play Wrath. So yes I’m there on my “high leveled” main  around level 54 now … I’ll make it to Northrend eventually. I play a bit SoM … I would like to get the Achievement, and a bit IronMan on Era as well. Ann’d as my play time right now is limited, I’m not much anywhere

i did play my 34 druid on hw earlier

That is actually untrue. On US they did already a run with faction only transfers before in EU. But as that whas super slow and so in their eyes back then a failure they decided to not even try it in EU anymore and instead open them unrestricted just to get overfull realms empty. It actually took them three years to find out that actions without thoughts have severe consequences.

I think the group of those would actually be higher if there would have been way earlier a cross realm dungeonfinder because one of the most drawbacks of small realms is the non availability of dungeons. And dungeons are one of the four big content pillars in Classic.

There were already faction based transfers?
Interesting…

What i´ve heard this year was, that it´s not possible (yet) and they had to figure it out. But on the other hand, the feature came then pretty fast, so maybe some old code that they were able to improve.

Yes, but cross realm dungeon finder was on the other hand something many did NOT want.

Now we will end up on mega realms, alltogeter

(exept the few Hyraxian Waterlords refugees maybe and the Patchwerkers still stuck on their realm  )

The question is as always, where really many people against it? Or whas it just a loud minority?

I don´t know.
I actually didn´t like the tool back then in Wrath.

But still better to have real realm identities then this overcrowded mega realms.
Though in the end it´s the same. Mega realm or dungeon finder, the effect is the same…

We just lost our realm. :-/
