Spent my afternoon tracking down the Seething Orbs so you are able to see the Seething Cache in ZC.
After getting 3 stacks of the buff from the orbs i recieved a message to say a hissing noise was coming from the northern shrine.
Went to the shrine and nothing, could not see it, tried realm hopping and still nothing.
I opened a ticket where the support advised that other people have been reporting this. Unfortunately all he said was to post on the forums…
I replied to ask if they could look at the logs to prove that i did it but it didnt work so could i just have the item, as i’m not going to get my time back i spent on this and then they just replied with a copy and paste response.
SO i’m posting here like they said, unfortunately even if they do fix the bug, i dont really have much desire to do that all again, would be nice if they could just look at the logs and send the item to the people that have wasted their time
There is another treasure to the south for which in order to interact with you need to be afflicted by the butterfly’s debuff. Couldn’t loot in combat, couldn’t loot outside of it. Managed to /reload ui fast enough before the 12s timer on the spell expired and that was when I was able to loot the chest. It’s a miracle it even worked considering how frequently I get stuck in combat after beating my enemies.
The entire zone is full of different frustrating bugs and I can’t imagine all of it has been tested properly or fixed in time, hopefully it gets better in a week’s time.
Had a ticket reply today stating:
Taking some time to check this issue for you, we can confirm that the chest not appearing is not a bug and intended if the cache has already been looted. The cache can only be looted by one player per spawn, meaning that if another player is able to open it before you, it will not be there for others. This is considered intended.
so if it is intended then you can waste your time searching for these orbs but not get the loot, wait an hour for the chest to re spawn but it may not do in that hour and then have to do it all again on a server of hundreds of people is insane!
Or they just cant be bothered to fix it and gave that response.
i think its broken. I have been checking for hours and cant even find a orb and havent seen anyone around at all since its 5 am and low pop server. Havent changed server during this time and it says they should respawn after an hour and it has most certainly not. I wouldnt be surprised if something like an event or wq is interfeering with it
Don’t kill the mob. Wait until it casts on you, if you need to, kite it closer to the chest, letting it cast on you if the buff drops. When close enough, kill it and loot the chest.
At the very, very least this needs to be it’s own achievement, seperated from anything else. Even just comparing it to literally every other requirement for Treasures of Zaralek Cavern will highlight that.
Burn a chest, get a cloak, finish a sidequest chain, collect an egg, read a flag, click 2 nearby crystals, swim, chase a mouse, Wait for random hours to hope you can click several orbs THEN hope a chest spawns properly THEN hope you get there first out of thousands, use the key found under the dead dog.
Y’know? one of these isn’t QUITE on par with the rest… Seething Cache puts the Treasures achievement up there with Raid mount drops.

is this broken tbh i cant see any more ive been here for 27hrs im getting to be insane.

Respectfully, it doesn’t clarify anything.
There’s no indication that it has been looted unless you already had the debuff when it was looted. It could be looted, then right after somebody new turns up and starts searching with no indication that it’s been looted and doesn’t know they’re wasting their time.
There needs to be some kind of indication given that the chest is available and there’s actually orbs spawned.
I’ve found 2 orbs, multiple times, and spend 2-3 hours searching for a 3rd orb with no luck. Considering that the area isn’t that large, it shouldn’t be that difficult to find 3 when you’re taking note of where you found them and where you’ve checked. I’ve heard the exact same thing from several people too. Find 2 within minutes of each other just to spend hours searching for a 3rd with no luck.
Either something is bugged, or it’s by design that some people simply don’t have 3 spawn for them.

Have attempted this many times at all times of the day, I seem to find 2 orbs quickly and then spend 2-4hrs flying around checking all spawn points with nothing ever showing up, incredibly frustrating and my support ticket lead to nowhere (unsurprisingly)
Any updates or advice with this problem?
My own personal experience was that not all 3 orbs were up at the same time. I got 2 orbs quite quickly with the 3rd being found maybe 20 mins later.
I think the only option is persistence until you get lucky.
According to the hotfix notes the spawn rate of the orbs was recently increased so hopefully it’s getting easier to get the third.
I got the first two within half a minute but the third one would never spawn. Eventually it was five of us fighting for the last stack so I skipped onto another server in fear of losing my own debuff if someone were to open first.
By getting the last orb on an entirely separate realm possibly made it more frustrating for others down the chain. Horrible design with realm hopping in mind.
I have never been a fan of content/systems where realm hopping is the best solution. While it solves problems for us as players it’s hard to believe that it’s an intended (or even healthy) gameplay approach and it’s always puzzled me that the designers continue to build systems which encourage that approach.
Today just collected all 3 orbs, triggered the hiss sound warning, cache appeared, went there.
Tried to click cache, and boom. Game froze. Couldnt dismount, tries to interact with cache but no progress bar. Cannot type anything, character just moves but cant interact with any item.
Game crashed, I logged back in, i was dead and 3 debuffs were gone. No mount. 2-hour search for nothing.
