Sef vs serenity

Hello guys,
Seeing that most people pick SEF I still wonder why. It is so unreliable. Clones get feared, novaed and so on. Also they tend to distract from the main target easy and constantly have to navigate them. Is it because it has 2 charges that people pick them? I feel like Serenity is so much better.

I prefer the SEF visuals & having the extra charge means more frequent use, but I only pick it for PvE.
For PvP I pick Serenity for consistency.

Both are viable

I pick Serenity vs classes that mess with clones like frost mages and shamans, or against classes with high mobility like dhs

WDP deals more damage overall so I pick it whenever I can

Well, you are assuming you are only comparing Sef vs. serenity too. But whirling dragon punch is a really good talent and in the same row as serenity.

Its only my offspec though, but i prefer SEF simply cause it looks really cool :stuck_out_tongue:

You always want to pick SEF yet being the worst and most unfun DPS Spell in the game it is still better than Serenity.

Serenity was only a viable option when Swift Roundhouse was relevant. And it’s still relevant in PvP, but it depends.

Yes, sorry that I did not mention that I’m talking only about the PvP side

He says even with nerfed Roundhouse Serenity is better and that even the nerfed Roundhouse kick is still the best Trait for PvP.

Also Hydra also still said he is more scared of Serenity than SEF or ToD. Well i cant show you that anymore because that happened about 1 month ago in one of his Streams.

I’m grieving the state of WW but just cant bother write in depth post anymore. I had that in WoD and Legion and then just gave up because nothing ever will change with the design.

I would wish WDP would be baseline just for the flow of the game but well that is another topic…

It has a point that another high ranked WW said Serenity is still better and that Roundhouse kick is still the trait to go, even after the nerf.

You another equal ranked WW says SEF. They are just 2 different opinions.

Soon as you use serenity whoever you’re fighting does everything they can to CC you and it gets wasted you rely on it too much. SEF has 2 charges and you get WDP. Serenity is alright if they’re willing to let you spam RSK on them

Well there isnt an answer for everything.

Everyone should now that SEF against AoE CCs are pretty bad.
Or did they change anything from legion that if you Trinket your clones do too or are they still in Fear/Stun/Root ?

So what if everyone will try ot stun u during the serenity? As every other class has to time their burst also. Serenity u can pop for a second, while SEF u have to wait them to summon for 1 sec. Then to USE WDP u have to kill 2 spells on CD. Everything is sooo situational. Personally I feel like SEF is much less reliable then Serenity. SEF is for me the worst designed spell in this game. That is why my question stands for is Serenity equal to damage?

SEF is annoying as and blizz really need to work on it especially that it sometimes bugs which ends up nerfing you reducing your damage but i think serenity should get 2 charges cause you use it there a huge orb above your head saying look at me I’ve just gone 1 shot mode and then everyone chain CCs you and its wasted and then you need to wait 2 min for burst again

While serenity got hit hard by the roundhouse nerf, With the new turbo fist talent, it is still super strong, especially vs teams where you get to cleave, being able to use 2 fists in a 10 sec window, you are able to put out a ton of damage on both targets.

Not to mention, SeF is like cutiepie said, the most boring dps ability in the game, having your clones get kited/CCd is the most annoying thing. I also dont get why they dont trinket when you do.

Only reason Sef is good is for the 2 charges, being CCd on serenity is massive, thats also why i always try to force cc/cds by using ToD first.
